WAY OVER-RATED micro-brewed high alcohol content export extra-stout. Character is way too busy on tongue back-outside tastebuds. After-taste all over the place.
I like a simple ultra-strong Cohiba extra-vigoroso torpedo maduro cigar. This beer is way too tootie-fruity to go with my favorite simple but strong cigar.
I much prefer best match: Leinenkugel's Big Eddy from original Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin brewry spring brewed seasonally with year on bottleneck band - cigar bands come off on way into humidor.
Rasputin is SISSY GIRLY Stout only good for fruit cake. I cannot believe the rating Rasputin gets here & I've lived in many places in the world to acquire local appreciation for water, ingredients & process characteristics.

This is a really nice Russian Imperial Stout (interesting to read why Russian Imperial Stout is named as it is, but to make a medium story short, it was historically brewed in England for the court of Catherine the 2nd of Russia). This brew is very very smooth and very very drinkable. Fortunately, available in quantity in the town where I live, I drink it regularly...lol.
A: Black with a big foamy head that quickly dissipates to a light broen cover
S: Malty chocolaty and smooth
T: Very smooth, big malts

The beer is super dark. So dark that when you hold it up to the light you can't see the light through it. It also has a beautiful mocha brown head that is 2 fingers high.
The smell is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, carmel, and dark fruits.
The taste is roasted malts with chocolate and coffee notes and finishes with a nice hop bitterness.
The mouthfeel is medium not to thick and not thin with a nice amount of carbonation that isn't over welling.
Overall this is a beer that isn't for the faint of heart. It is for someone who appreciates a really complex beer that can savor this beer slowly.
