A: The beer is very dark amber (jet black) in color and has a finger high creamy beige head.
S: There are light aromas of cola in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, there are lots of cola flavors along with notes of bready malts and hints of caramel and chocolate.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
D: The beer goes down very smoothly and is easy to drink.

Another on tap at Prague Beer Museum from my last trip last spring, from my notes.

big creamy off-white 1 finger head, nice lacing, very dark almost black but clear brown light slightly getting through.

Nose is unfortunately more macro lager like, bit of sulfury unhappy lager yeast, light choc like dark malt, little caramel and biscuit, mild malt extract.

Taste is even more meh lager, little sulfur and unhappy lager again, some dark creamy black malts with little choc, some bitter earthy hops, little char too, light tinny lager yeast addition. Finish is a little sticky, dark malts, more sulfur and tin, etc.

Mouth is med bod, decent carb, sticky.

Notes from Prague. Served into a Merlin stemmed wine glass. First "dark" beer I had in Prague.

A- Black/purple with fluffy off-white head that left great lacing.

S- Sweet malt with lightly roasted malts. Light plum or other similar stone fruit.

T-Lightly bitter and roasted malts. Light coffee and cocoa with dark stone fruits.

M- Medium body with mild carbonation. Smooth but not viscous.

O-Solid dark beer. A nice change from Euro lager and pilsners.

Pours a very dark, clear color with a medium off-white head and a decent retention.
There are some roasted malts in the aroma as well as a little chocolate and what I liked, no coffee.
The taste is sweet, roasted only slightly bitter in the aftertaste.
Smooth but sadly slightly watery.

From notes. On tap at the beer museum in Prague.

Almost an opaque black with faint ruby/mahogany highlights at the bottom of the glass. Moderate, tan colored head. Good lacing, less than average retention.

A moderately roasty, nutty nose with some sweet cola/caramel.

Similar flavor, roasty, chocoalte, nuts, with a good herbal hop balance.

Good body for a lager, fullness holds up the dark.

Overall a good dark lager, acceptable in every way, but not a standout.

The colour is deep deep brown-red, almost black (95 EBC). The three finger beige compact head slowly sinks down to a linger thick lid, leaving lots of lacing.

The smell is mild with some floral bitterness. Roasted notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Some tart notes in the background as well as a touch of burned rubber.

The taste is clean and fresh: Roasted flavours, a little tartness in the background. Growing notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee. Smooth creamy bitterness. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is roasted and clean. Fresh ground coffee and caramel in the finish.

The carbonation is medium strong, mid-strong fresh short-lived bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth.

Very clean notes and very refreshing. It may lack some depth, though.

Served cool from 330ml bottle into newly acquired glass from Premium Czech Beers.

A) Very dark opaque black with ruby-red tinge against light. Bubbly off-white head, not a lot of fizz apparent.

S) Light chocolate ice cream. Hints of warming dark malts. I've got a feeling I chilled this more than I should have.

T) Nice refreshing roasted malt, a bit like an iced coffee sensation. Again my bad for chilling it too much, but it is good. As it warms up it becomes more stout-like.

M) Good dense mouth feel for a lager style. Again, having it this cold has the effect of an iced coffee drink.

O) Anyone who thinks lager has no flavour should drink this and then think again. Highly recommended.
