On tap at the brewery in Maui.

A: Darker brown but translucent with a good head that sticks around a while.

S: Strong toasted malt with hints of brown sugar & caramel.

T: Toasted malt, sweetness (brown sugar & caramel), alcohol is well hidden and barely noticeable.

M: It felt just a bit thin. Most wee heavy's I've had were creamier but given where most of it is consumed I can understand the viscosity.

All in all, a very drinkable brew.

A - Little to no head. Rouged mahogany, accented by amber-red and caramel with almost a mildew green rim.

S - Sweet malted bread and straw.

T - Sweetness as from bread yeast. Honeyed. A little dryness to finish.

M - Quite flat. Sticky and fuzzy fading to smooth.

O - I quite enjoyed this offering; I certainly think it's very drinkable, although I can imagine the second or third might start to feel cloyin. Good.

On tap at Stone 15th.
This beer pours a medium amber color with a good head that lasts through the beer. The smell is somewhat faint and hard to pick up but what is there is some toasted malts, brown sugar, caramel. The taste is a little sugar, malt, caramel, alcohol is well hidden and barely noticable. the mouth on this one is more carbonated then I have come accustomed to with the style but it is welcomed. This is a very easy to drink Scotch Ale that I would have again.

Wee heavy maui brew co 7 abv 30 ibu,

A: The appearance here is a thin mahogany with ruby tones at the edges. It is in between amber and an ipa. It has nice lacing and decent coating.

S: The beer smells of toasted almond and caramel. It comes off like a kind of weak English barley wine of sorts.

T: There is a big maltiness and large drying at the outset. It sets itself up similar to a hybrid between an IPA and a weak barley wine. There are omnipresent herbal tastes of toasted almond and caramel, roasted cherry, tartness and smoky notes

M: Again, this just feels like crystal and English 2 row barley phoning it in. It isn’t bad but it is exactly by the numbers. Go look at a Hyundai if you need a clearer example of what I am referring to.

D: This is incredibly drinkable and a welcome alternative to going hop crazy. The ABV keeps it at pace with the big-er boys and its character makes it interesting and unique. It is like at a dinner party when you find out that someone used to play Magic: the Gathering. You instinctively asked what color deck this Wee Heavy is presenting.

Narrative: It was hard for Malcolm Rogers to relate to the guys. They always rooted for the Big 10, what with him and his fencing hobby, he felt a bit outside the ranks. However, there was one thing that Malcolm could consistently offer that would bring even the most stalwart of opposition to its knees: “DID SOMEONE SAY TOTINOS PIZZA ROLLS?” It did not matter the class, creed, or character of his guests; once those preservative laden rolls hit the table, things were off of the hook, hinges and heezy concurrently. No one really thought much about Malcom’s job, or his background. He made horrible fantasy draft picks based on name alone, and his antechamber smacked of Anthropologie; but they tolerated him. His sweet decadent pizza rolls wafted through the KB Home, securing his eschelon amongst the bretheren.
