Thanks to Alex for this crowler!
Golden, hazy body with a pillowy, soapy white head that bubbles down to peaked islands and a foamy ring.
All you'd want out of an American IPA. Piney and citrus aroma and taste. A bit of orange juice to round it out and add some sweetness.
Medium body with a light mouthfeel.

Great beer, they had California style on the chalk board and they nailed it.

What an oasis this place is in a place you'd expect to find crap like Bud or worse. Kudo's to the brewer's and their ability to make great beer and keep the prices in check considering you have to import all your ingredients from afar. Not only do they make great beer, they have a huge variety of brews and good food at the pub. If you're on Maui, you MUST go.
As for Freight Train, this is a classic west coast DIPA served in a tulip. ABV is a little low for a DIPA. However mouth feel all the other attributes of great DIPA are there. Sorry I don't have time to go into all the beer snob scoring but you can't go wrong with this beer if you're a DIPA fan!

On tap at Maui Brewing Company in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with a 1 inch puffy white head that settles to a film on the top of the beer. Small chunks of lace stick to the glass on the drink down. Smell is fantastic with lots of tropical fruits, peach, mango, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is very much the same with a malt presence on the finish. A pretty assertive bitterness lingers on the palate after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good West Coast IPA ("San Diego style" per MBC) with an awesome fruity hop smell.
