Big but very plain space. Good selection of beers, most of which were above average but nothing phenomenal. Service was very good. Overall a nice brewpub that benefits from very limited competition.

Visited the brewpub on Wednesday June 6th for a late lunch with Da Boss while on our 10 day visit to Maui.

Vibe of the place needed some work to add some ambience. The pub occupies a significant amount of space in a retail center. Walls were very plainly decorated with some framed posters. Long bar with seating for 25 or so is in the middle surrounded by tables, with some being family picnic style.

Service was very good and prompt on a late Wednesday afternoon. Server had no reason to display her knowledge. I would guess it was 80% full.

Selection of beers was solid, i would guess around 20-25. They had some imperial beers there along with there core lineup and other one-off's i never heard of. I did not catch if they had guest taps.

Food was very good as well. I had the French Dip with fries and both were solid. I cannot recall what Da Boss had but she liked hers as well.

Other than the ambience i enjoyed everything that Maui had to offer!

I was in need of a good micro-brew spot, not saying the beaches and pina coladas weren't satisfying, but this place was a necessary beer-scape. The food and beer is excellent quality with the Hawaiian twist you would expect.

I have a condo nearby so it is always fun to see what new beers they have. Usually an excellent selection. Jumbilia is my favorite food. Other selections are good but not excellent. Staff are always very friendly.

Good modest industrial type space in a strip mall right on the main drag between Ka'anapali and Kapalua. Went for lunch with kids...staff was friendly, but only so-so when it came to talking about the beer. Food was okay, but forgettable. Lots (like 15 or so) of their beers on tap, as well as a few guest taps, available in 12 or 16 oz pours (or taster flights). If you're on the island and looking for beer, this (or the brewery in Kihie) is probably the place to be. Doesn't quite compare to better brewpubs or taprooms on the mainland, but it isn't bad, and then again, you're on Maui, so...

What as there more to say about a brewery in Paradise, the beer is good, the island is good, it’s too bad that it is so expensive to come out to Hawaii, but if you do, even just once, it is worthwhile.

A nice place in a strip mall. It's large and noisy.
They had about fifteen beers on tap and being that I might never get here again I had two flights.
They had good food but limited.
I had an ahi sandwich with slaw and it as very good.
If your on the Kaanapali coast go for it.

Great place. The frosted bar top is awesome. Beer gets colder as you drink it. Sliders and fries are tasty. The staff is super friendly. Always a pretty decent selection of beers.

A place I stopped by a few times on my recent trip to Maui.

Set in a strip mall, but the inside looks more like a warehouse. Large, open, with a big bar, and lots of TVs. Pretty lively each time I visited too.

Like I mentioned in my review of the Maui Brewery/Taphouse, the beers are all at least solid or better, with nothing being really spectacular.

Service was always good. Everyone was friendly, prompt, and willing to offer tasters.

Selection is great. They had upwards of 20 of their own beers on tap, and the first couple of times I visited they had a guest brew from Modern Times.

Food was tasty and filling.

Overall, a very worthy spot. And like I said, I found myself here more than once because I enjoyed it so much.

The Lahaina brewpub for Maui Brewing is a large space, with an industrial vibe. It seems a bit odd in Maui to be huddled inside a space that feels like a metal warehouse, but the design/vibe are like a lot of other brewery taprooms, so it's fine. The beers are pretty good, while the food was better. I was surprised at how good the food was (not fine dining, but really good pub food), and a bit surprised that the beers weren't better. It's not that the beers are mediocre ... they are good ... but they are not nearly as good as the better breweries in Seattle (or Portland, for that matter). You should go here, because it's the best spot on Maui for a wide variety of beer and good food. Just don't expect it to be top flight.

We usually stop in when we're here on Maui.
Nice big space, a smattering of flat screens and a decent beer board with a few guest taps. The other day it was a slew of Modern Times beers and Old Rasputin.
Keep in mind however that the better selection of MBC taps is at the Kihei location with 30+ MBC beers.
The food menu (while the Kihei location has more beers, they don't have food aside from the food trucks) is solid but we always get the veggie burger which, combined with the soft, tasty bun, is delicious.
We were there on a weekday shortly after they opened, so service was very attentive.

Located in a small shopping mall just north of Lahaina, the brewpub is a surprising good size pub with a sizeable wrap around bar in the middle. Both MBC and Kona brewing have something of beach theme going on, which I guess makes sense. The vibe is relaxed and informal, and with several TV's as well, this is pretty good place to hang out with a beer or three.

As for the selection, on this day they had 19 beers on tap, with a number of seasonal and special release items. As I recall, sample glasses are in the $2.25 range, and I ordered roughly 10 different sample glasses. Some things were better than others of course, but quality was pretty high across the board, with two exceptions. They had a barrel aged wit on tap this day (aged in Chardonnay barrels), and while the idea was intriguing, the barrel aging really didn't do a lot for the wit. In place of clove and coriandor, there was something of a wine and vanilla flavor instead, and I just didn't think it worked very well. On the other hand, the IPA's here generally all pretty good (they had 3 on tap this day as I recall), and the imperial coconut porter was an absolute stunner (easily the best beer I've ever tasted from a Hawaii, and a solild candidate for the BA top 100, if the beer is ever distributed on the mainland).

Service here was very good, with our bartendeer easily the most knowledgeable server we encontered on the islands (we figured he might know a thing or two when we saw the Walking Man brewing cap he was wearing). As for food, we got a small order of nachos with pulled pork, guac and sour cream added as an extra. It was very good as well, and was pretty sizeable for a small order.

Prices were on the high side, but again, not inordinately so for the islands. I think the samplers, a snifter of the porter and the food came to around $40.

Definitely a fun stop during our visit to Maui.
