You get the hand! Sampled at the brewery. A mostly hazy lemony yellow color with a coppery hue through out the beer. A soft but fizzy white head with long lasting retention and thick lacing.

The nose is limited, or at the least more of a neutral smell. The malt comes out with more of a generic note but the wheat is there as well. Somewhat spicy aroma but there. Some very light phenols and banana. Definitely could use more for sure. Some minor citrus but closer to a wheat beer than hefe.

The taste is similar. The wheat comes out a bit more versus the nose. But very limited cloves and banana notes. Some hints of rose peddles and a light orange but really could use more. Almost like they fermented this too cold.

The body is light to moderate. Could use a bit more depth. Carbonation is good. Overall a bit disappointing on the yeast character. Would call this more of an American wheat with some hints of German. Still easy to drink though.

Described as "unfiltered Hefeweizen brewed with ginger and honey." 6% ABV.
This is slightly spiced and totally drinkable variation on the flavored wheat theme. It pours a little hazy in the Blanche de Chambly glass with a slight mustache of foam. The abundant carbonation in the mouth, however, goes nicely with the tangy mouthfeel.

Plenty of wheat flavors with some malty sweetness. The ginger is not overdone, but it does add a hot taste as well as the spicy aromatics. It's just not so strong as a flavor. The honey seems to play along well with this combination. Plenty of mellow sweet tastes, but the zingy sharpness offers some balance, even without any actual hop flavor. There is a little bitter aftertaste, though I couldn't say if it's the hops or something from the giners.

Quite an outstanding spiced Hefe, but you do need to be in the mood for it. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.

A: Poured a cloudy, pale amber with a small hint of a white cap that disappeared before I looked at it twice. Lacing is meager at best.

S: Definite ginger smell, a little sweetness from the honey and a nice golden wheat background.

T: To be blunt, it tastes somewhat...cheap...?...on initial palate. The ginger comes in after to bring it back but seems unbalanced with the honey, kinda like the two are arguing until it fades into....wheat...silence. The finish is decent, all the flavors have figured it out by then and some sort of accord has been met and my palate is relieved to be at that point.

M: Good mouthfeel, medium body, drinks like the beer I had back in the old college days (think MGD 64...maybe less bubblies....definitely less bubblies)

O: Mediocre, at best. It is definitely not what I was hoping for for the price. Would make an excellent beer pong beer for the 1 percenters....I don't plan on on purchasing this again.

A little white head caps the cloudy, light-orange liquid. Sparkling cider and honey smells waft over sweetbread maltiness and golden wheat, touched by a little ginger. The ginger flavor is much more apparent in the taste, along with tart apple. This brew has the light-bodied, clean flavor of the lower-alcohol content American blonde ales, such as Pyramid curveball. No, it is not a hefeweizen by any measure––do not be fooled by the name. When taken as a light pale ale brewed with wheat, however, it is an enjoyable beer. Ignoring my pet peeve of US wheat beers that call themselves "hefe" without conforming to any aspects of the style, I think this drinks alright.

Poured from a standard pressure-cap bottle into a weizen glass. Reviewed live. No best-by date.

A- Quarter-finger white head with low retention. Cloudy orange body, moderate clarity. Some skimpy lacing.

S- Ginger, honey and lime? Strange.

T- Honey, wheat, ginger and some spiciness. Quite watery, actually. Not great.

M- Thin and very wet.

O- Not bad tasting, but thin and pretty unspecial.

A: Poured a light golden yellow with a small white cap, some bubbles and light lacing clinging on for dear life

S: Ginger you say? More Ginger and then a measure of wheat and honey.

T: Immediate plastic like taste covered up by way to much ginger. The wheat and light banana sneak in about mid taste but quickly fall off leaving some stickiness, ginger and muted crispness

M: Medium bodied, well carbonated,a bit thin and guess what? Too gingery

O: Not the best in the world

Pours a hazey, golden hue with light foam on the surface.

Aroma is light plastic, lactic sour notes, hint of banana and all around bad. Something is amiss here.

Taste follows the nose with tart lactic flavor with a slight enteric edge, plastic-like phenols and a hint of bready malts. Seriously bad beer.
Mouthfeel is medium/thin with moderate carbonation.

Overall this beer is just terrible, I really hope it's bad/dirty tap lines and doesn't taste like this from the brewery. Tastes like an infection and/or terrible fermentation management.

On tap at the brewery

A pours a cloudy orange with lots of lacing but not much head.

S cloves and a spicy Ginger note. Also a bubble gum note appears

T very strong Ginger bite accompanied by some light Citrusy fruit and more bubble gum.

M the mouthfeel is light and well carbonated. Easy to drink.

Overall this is a decent wheat beer, nothing special but its a great beer for a summer in ellensburg.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle to a straight-side pilsner glass.

A - Poured a golden light orange color, with inconsistent swirls of cloudiness within. Head was less than a finger of small bubbles that lasted awhile. A little bit of fluid lacing.

S - A moderate sweet floral and honey scent accentuated by a note of oranges, with a subdued whiff of wheat. Not a powerful scent, surprisingly subdued actually.

T - The sweet floral honey flavor is dominant, complimented by a tiny bit of citrus. The ginger is hard to notice (that might just be me), and there's a subtle wheaty finish.

M - Lighter-side-of-medium body, soft carbonation, a bit of stickiness.

D - A very nice mild, sweet beer if you're into that kind of thing. Good summer evening patio beer. Personally, I tend to like something with a sharper flavor punch, so it's not my favorite, but its still decent...and better than the C average it's earning. Not a hefeweizen, though, important to note.

I think this beer gets a bad rap. Sure the label says "High Five Hefe", but "hefe" simply means "yeast". Perhaps one shouldn't judge this against hefeweizens.

Poured at Brews on Washington in Spokane, WA.

A: yellow on tannish. Less than single Finger of white head quickly falls to a sheet of the same. Turbid - not as cloudy as I would expect this beer to be. Spotty lacing.

S: bananas, cloves and plastic. Fairly low in intensity all around. The yeast is not as well highlighted as it should be, neither is the wheat.

T: banana, lemons, distant clove. It's like the water was poorly assessed for the style. It has a sharp, chemical flavor. Not good.

M: thin for the style. Carbonation is the right intensity, unfortunately the viscosity does nothing to compliment.

O: man, this is not a good beer. I'm sad as this is a local for me, and I like to see them do well, but this beer is no good.

Poured from the 22oz glass into a Stella stem glass. Body is a bright golden-orange with nice, zesty carbonation and almost no haze. A small flourish of bright white head appears briefly before receding to a thin ring. Aroma of sweet ginger and orange peel, along with some bubble gum from the yeast.
Palate is a mix of fruity hops and spicy ginger up front. A mildly sweet malt profile holds notes of orange peel and bubble gum. The ginger lingers on the finish, but doesn't impart a huge amount of heat or spice. Body is lively and just a little creamy, which isn't a big plus for a wheat ale. Still, this goes down easily enough, and the fruit and ginger provide more flavor than distraction.
