Poured from a bomber into a conic pint glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. I see no best-by date on the bottle. Reviewed live.

A- Pours a finger-and-a-half thick chocolate milk-colored head. Middling retention, lasts less than two minutes. Deep mahogany colored beer, little clarity because it is so dark. Possibly the darkest I've seen of a Red/Amber, which makes me wonder if it was classified correctly. According to untapped, it is classified as a "Dark ale" which looks to be more accurate.

S- Piney hops, floral notes. Solid toasty malts. Nicely developed aroma.

T- Going by taste alone, I see why the reviewer before me classified the beer as an amber. Nutty, roasty and sweet. Some earthy hops as well. Actually quite nice.

M- Medium bodied and smooth with aggressive carbonation. Finishes fairly dry and sticky.

O- Enjoyable beer no matter what the style is.

The style here might need to be changed. The beer is listed by the brewery as being brewed with "every common brewing grain" and using " a unique blend of two different yeasts". OK. I just didn't what style to list it as.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a dark, semi brown brown color with about 1/4 inch of tan head that had moderate retention and low lacing. The aroma was an odd blend of grains, some mildly bitey hops and a, um, different yeast scent. The flavor profile was the same, just worse. The grains were a terrible mess, the flavors didn't really fit in anywhere, and the yeast was just yucky.

The body was decent, just lighter than full, and smooth. Drinkability suffered from the bad taste. Overall, not a good beer. I drank it, so you don't have to. Avoid.
