If I lived in the Kalispell area I would live at Moose's saloon. It is a Montana landmark. Mooses is a very dim lit bar, nothing fancy about this place. You throw your peanut shells on the floor, there are half mangled deer heads on the wall from years of drunken abuse no doubt. They have a good selection of NW micros and some macro's also. The food is exceptional, not sure how they get the pizza to taste so good but you'll be hard pressed to find it any better than this anywhere. The only bad thing about Moose's is that they don't have one where I live.

Swinging wood saloon doors lead into a dark, well worn barroom with graffitti etched onto the walls. Efficient, busy bartender has no time for chit chat, but serves up a wide selection of Western and Pacific NW micro-brews. This is the quintessential old west saloon. Peanuts shells on the floor, sports on the one TV, and pretty good sandwiches and bar grub. Had my first Alaskan Amber on tap here. Many Montana microbrews also are represented. A favorite of mine was Troutslayer from Bayern Brewing in Missoula. The prices are old time too, a buck thirty for a micro draft, less for the nationals. Don't let the rough exterior put you off, go in for a great Montana beer adventure and have a Moose Drool.
