So much of Vermont is quaint and charming....come here for the flip side. Wine, booze and the beer is all along the right side as you enter. Front to back wall long coolers and shelving units. You will find well stocked and extensive choices from all the widely available Vermont options. Major regionals and national heavy weights. Also the typical Belg-Brit-Germ options. Heads up, I did notice some semi dusty bottles.

This place sells a ton of wine-Booze-beer to a thirsty college and younger local crowd. Friday night at about 7 pm was a dizzying scene of cases and handles of the hard stuff hastening out the door. They are worth stopping in to see what is locally available when in downtown Burlington. For more extensive options beer wise, I wouldn't leave the area without a stop at Winooski Bev., just about 7 minutes north of town

I am shocked that this place has a lower average rating than City Market. In my opinion it is FAR superior.

There is a huge amount of bombers here from across the word with a great selection of American micros. Definitely a lot to choose from here. All the regular VT locals are represented here along with some interesting selections from across the US.

The atmosphere is nothing special, but this is a bottle shop, not a bar, so the atmosphere means very little to me if the selection and quality is good, which it was here.

If you are in Burlington, don't skip this over on account of City Market.

I was looking for some local favs here the other day, I thought they had a pretty good selection of craft beer. Many cold bombers, alot of Belgians, some local stuff I had not seen in MA, but I was looking for some of the more obscure microbrews from VT and U did not come across any. I got a few McNeill's selections, and I remember their Rogue selection as being much more than I had seen anywhere else recently.

Prices seemed ok, they had bombers of Otter Creek Stout for $3, which seemed like a good price.

If I lived here I would frequent this place.

This place is a college store but the selection has been much better in the last few months. If you go during the day you can talk to the MGMT. the guy who does all the ordering is usually around and likes to talk to people who know what they are talking about. I was excited to see that they had 2 Brooklyn Black Oops left a few months ago and the guys was like wait i have one more in the back if you want it! Thank you. Also there is a tuff night MGMT person there named Tracy. I always ask her what is new that week and she points them out. It is a friendly place. Getting better.

Pearl Street beverage is the college kids liquor store. It can get really crazy there on Friday and Saturday night. There will usually be some sketchy people in there, and a lot of times the service isn't too great if you're there late at night but it's generally good if you go in the afternoons.

They do have a pretty good selection of beer, and about half of it is in the coolers so if you're looking for something to drink right after work or whatever you can pick up something cool. They have a pretty big selection of bottles that are sitting out as well and it's been growing in recent months.

However they really have more of a liquor selection. Again, I've said this in other reviews but if you're really looking for unique beers you should drive 10 mins to Winooski Beverage for a much better selection but their prices are almost always higher, but they usually get more limited edition stuff including beer from Lawson's Finest Liquids on occasion.

On my mini trip to Burlington last weekend, i decided to visit the other beer stores in the area before going to the Winooski Beverage Warehouse to see how they stacked up.

Close to Church Street is this Pearl Street Beverage. I've been here before but this is the first time i pay closer attention.

Walking in, it looks like a convenience store. Beer at the cash (magnums & gift sets) and more as i walk straight to the back.

Selection is average, good but not great. Lots of Belgians, local micros and others (Stoudt's, Cisco, etc..). Good choice for bombers though and you can break up packs no problem. I was kind of hoping for more, especially seeing as how the ABV restriction was lifted several months ago but didn't see too much (yet). Got some Anchor Old Foghorn & Stoudt's Winter Ale.

Service was average, a little bit nonchalant. Quality was ok but watch out for the Anchor Small Beer, bottled in 2007. I flagged it in Beerspy.

Overall, i was a bit letdown by the selection as compared to the Beverage Warehouse. It's the best selection in downtown Burlington but if you go an extra 10 minutes away, you have way better selection in Winooski.

Conviently located and easy to find in downtown Burlington with available parking. All the Vermont breweries are well represented in 6packs, twelve packs, as well as 22s. Since the new law change allowing higher alcohol beers, the Belgian selection has exploded! Don't stop at the coolers where the good beers end, on the shelf opposite the Macros is where the great Belgians, as well as others, are kept. Lots of Roque, Stone, Berkshire, Unibroue, Smutty, etc. There is a large selection of wines and spirits that can be purchased as well.
Prices are reasonable, even or a little cheaper than other stores in the area. If you go, especially on a weekend evening, be prepared to wait in line. This is the stop for all the college kids-very busy. Service can be very good to leave me alone, dealing with the college crowd all day has that effect on people.
Overall, great location, solid selection, reasonable prices, long lines.
