Notes/Commercial Description:

Poured in a spiegelau beer tasting glass

A: Nice golden color, rapidly fading white head

S: Discreet, but nice pefumes of honey, flowers.

T: Pretty light body, good carbonation, short... Lacks personnality, especially at this price point.

O: Nice, but quite average at the same time. Too pricey, wouldn't buy again.

Bottle from Broue HAHA. From notes.

A - Poured with a 3 finger creamy wihite head on a golden body with good carbonation. Bright. Good lacing and half finger of retention.

S - Grassy and earthy with some lemon and a bit of barnyard. Lemon candy.

T - Lemon, biscuits, sweet malts and a little tartness.

M - Good carbonation, light body, sweet and slightly hoppy finish.

O/D - A pretty solid session beer but nothing spectacular outside that spectrum. It does what it needs to do, and it does it quite well. Slightly mild but for the ABV it's alright.

Bottle shared by Vito at the Copper Mine last weekend.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy dirty honey with a 1 finger white crown that displays moderate retention and lace.

Smell: Tea, honey, flowers, and a touch of smoke. Unique.

Taste: Same as nose but with a small hop bite!

Mouthfeel: Medium body with good carbonation makes for a crisp brew.

Drinkability: Sessionable.

A- Pale yellow. Weak head. Tiny particles all over

S- Bottle sniff gives some LME. Kind of cold right now, all I get is malted barley. A little sour apple. Warmer us the same thing just easier to pick out.

T- Just bitter malt at first while it was pretty cold. Some dirty apple.

M- High carbonation. Very full. Very dry. It's all super and the best part of this brew.

D- Very good. I don't really like the taste but I enjoyed drinking it.

Another slightly expensive yet unimpressive beer from this brewery. There's a really special aura around they're beers but it just doesn't quite deliver.

Pours very light orange with zero head and no lacing. Looks like an adjunct lager but flat. Smell is weak but kind of bready and malty. Taste is palatable but quite boring. I would call it very clean tasting. Mouthfeel is good body wise but undercarbonated. Drinkability is good but it's quite the boring beer.

Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry. Decants from the bottle, a pale and sparkling gold with a one finger of white fizz. The aroma is sugar and grains with shortbread cookies and straw, and hints at yeast. The flavour profile is surprisingly sweet and shows grains, bread crust, fruit and doughy accents. Average carbonation and a decent finish with a bit too much residual sugar. Standard stuff. Thanks Harry!

T light bodies with low bitterness and a touch of residual malt sweetnes.

M- light and prickly carbonation. very little aftertaste if any. very dry

D- very drinkable, very similar to american pils or light lager.

not bad but not great. good session beer

acquired in a trade from northyorksammy thanks! Pours a light gold with a large head. Very appropriate for the name. Smell is malty pretty faint. Taste is clean malt. Like other reviewers, I'm suprised it's an ale. Nice mouthfeel. A very drinkable beer. Just not very interesting.

12 oz bottle I got at Marché Vaillancourt here in Canada (freebie thanks to the shop owner). Poured into a chalice.

A: Poured a honey colored yellow that has some real active carbonation activity. Poured a big, white head that shrank down to a top cap. Lacing is pretty tight for the style.

S: Smell is a bit ehh. Smells of earthy hops, and light malt. Nothing much going on in the nose.

T: Taste is of grassy hops, light, sweet corn, malt, sea salt, spice and a touch of honey. Has a bitterness to it but nothing that comes close to a APA or IPA. Just slightly sour and bitter.

M: A light bodied beer with a good amount of carbonation. Bitterness is left in the mouth in the aftertaste. Crisp beer that has a refreshing quality.

D: This beer is ok. It could absolutely be better. I couldn't drink too many of these because even if they are light in body, they sit kinda heavy. Still glad I gave it go, especially since the sucker was free. Prost.

Great honey colour. Pours with a thick head that does not stay a long time though. Bubbles all along, not a flatty beer. Smells sweet with some floral tones. Taste is rather surprising on the first sip. You're left with a persistent bitter taste. It fades after a while but, thing is it's a bit too bitter for me. Maybe colder it'll be better ('coz I drink ales at around 12-14 celcius)... I'll enjoy this 6 pack anyway ;-)

Thanks for the trade northyorksammy.
Crystal clear, yellow/gold with a thin, fizzy white cap. There was a constant stream of bubbles supporting the head and just a bit of short-lived lacing. Mild aroma, a bit grainy with some mild fruit and floral notes. Low bitterness with sweet malts in the forefront. Clean yeast profile with mild hopping that was apparent in the finish. Medium to light bodied, smooth texture was somewhat diminished by the more than ample carbonation. Easy to drink, quite refreshing.

On tap at the brewery....a fellow reviewer seemed to doubt that the barley was grown on the islands. I can attest to the fact that it was...talked to the owner/brewer and looked at the photo album that documented the 2006 harvest. Reason...cost, MUCH cheaper for them to grow their own than ship all of the barley grain out to the islands...this place is out there!

A- Clear golden yellow. Nice thick white head and good carbonation. Head leaves behind nice lacing.

S- Some grassy hop scent with maltiness coming through nicely.

T- A pleasant "training wheels" beer for those not use to microbrews. All-malt ale with the light, refreshing qualities one looks for in a "regular" beer.

M - Somewhat thin but very pleasant. Certainly not a bad beer but not what I look for in a micro.

D- A well crafted, easy to drink microbrew macro substitute. I would happily want to drink this over LaBatt's, Molson or Moosehead anyday! Support your local!

341 ml bottle. Bottled on Feb. 2007.

A- Clear golden colour that is a deep gold rather than a pale yellow. Good white head and good effervescence. Head settle rapidly but leaves a nice ring of bubbles around the glass.

S- Grassy hops, grain, pale malt. Refreshing.

T- Pleasant clean pale malt with light hops. A little mild by my tastes but a pleasant alternative to the macros for a "basic" beer. Would be even better with a more interesting floral hop, or just slifhtly more hopped overall.

MF- Crisp, refreshing. Not too watery.

D- Very easy to drink beer. Well crafted.

Bottle: Poured a slightly murky yellow color ale with a big foamy head with average retention. Aroma of salty malt and slightly funky yeast is intriguing to say the least. Taste is a mix between some salty malt with a funky yeasty finish kind of resembling a light saison. I’m not sure that the taste was intended that way and kind of wondered if it is slightly infected or past its due date. In any case, interesting beer from an interesting brewery.

Appearance: Clear medium golden color, with a small, persistent white head, and slight carbonation.

Aroma: Cooked corn and mild noble hops combine for a simple, but pleasing aroma.

Taste: Opens with mildly tart malt, slight medicinal hops, the hops linger on to the end of the taste.

Mouth feel: Smooth, rich, fairly full, quite pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: A pleasant, competently-crafted ale. Many thanks to my friend and fellow BA HardTarget, for sharing this rare example.

Bottle Inspection: 4.8%, bottle notched F (Feb.), 06 (2006), 1 (from 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4 ??? I have no idea). Enjoyed April 29, 2006.

Aroma: Floral hop perfumed with a touch of alcohol with some slight oak or vanilla notes.

Appearance: Clear dark gold glass graced by a thin, short lived whitish head that fail to hang or lace.

Flavor: Full, rich, smooth, I thought this was a lager until I checked. Clean and well made without obvious flaw.

Mouthfeel: Full carbonation and medium body

Overall Impression: Enjoyable, but not inspiring. A nice “all malt lager” taste going, very smooth and easy to drink. A good effort!

Hand carried back from Montreal.

Drinkable lager, medium gold colour. Passable, with some sea-salt, hops, malt, graininess in texture. Overall sweet, drying finish.. Nothing bold or interesting really. Fresh from Le Goblet. Ok for the lawn cutting. Dark mysterious bottle label , low alcohol.
