A- This beer has a glowing hazy body of warm orange with a thin film of snow white foam sitting on top. There is a nice bit of lacing with each sip even as the head fades to a thick ring around the glass.
S- This beer has a nice slightly sweet perfume note with a hint of bitter green at the finish. The bitterness is soft enough that it doesn’t have a hop flavor but does balance the sweetness. As the beer warms there are notes of red apple skins and a faint bubble gum note that is quite pleasant.
T- The flavor of light sweet caramel malt blends with flavors of pear juice and a note of circuits peanut candy and a bright red apple hint. The finish has a light bitter green finish with a note of black pepper and a faint fusel taste, which is quite nice.
M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a light alcohol heat at the finish which really cleans the sweetness of the palate.
D- This beer has some nice complexity and some nice twist that many average triples don’t have. I can see why this is an award winner. In a world of so many average triples that are big on the sweet and big on the heat this beer has some nice depth and balance.

Pours a gorgeous hazy copperish-orange with a bubbly white head. Active carbonation keeps a nice ring going the whole time you slug this sucker down. No lacing, though.
The smell is wonderfully potent. Yes, it's typical of a good tripel (spicy and fruity), but shouldn't it be? No indication of the booze-level either.
Flavor, on the other hand, gives you a bit of a hint as far as the booze content is concerned. The alcohol isn't quite as masked as in a La Fin Du Monde or Allagash, but that's not to say that it's a bad thing either. The main flavor components are the clove-like spiciness and the fruity esters. There's actually a touch of hop bitterness on the finish as well.
Mouthfeel is good, with very lively carbonation. Pretty much right where it should be.
It's nice to see yet another quality brewery doing their thing in my home state. It's even nicer to see them doing it Belgian style. I just wish that more brewers of Belgian style ales (here in the states) would embrace six packs (or four packs) so that we didn't always have to rely on 750 ml bottles to get the job done.

On-tap at the Brugge Brasserie. Served in a goblet.
A: Very small head that's gone quickly. Looks a murky, golden orange.
S: Lots of spiciness. Corriander, orange peel, etc... Almost smells like a Wit rather than a Triple. Sweetness is also very dominant.
T: Much like the smell, spicy sweetness is the 400lb gorilla here. The sweetness is almost too pronounced. Some hops towards the end with a slight bitterness on the finish.
M: Medium bodied. Carbonation is a average. There is also some stickiness.
D: The almost 10% ABV is really well hidden, but the heavy sweetness makes it a little hard to have more than one serving.
I've had this several times on draft and even in a bottle. This was supposedly a fresh batch and I think this beer does better with some age on it. Overall a nice take on a Belgian Triple. I'll have to revisit this in a bottle and do a sister review.

Poured from bottle. Review from notes.
A- Pours a deep golden yellow color. One and a half finger light white colored head. This stays for a short period before leaving nice lacing on the sides of the glass.
S- Very sweet smelling. Nice fruity malts in there mix with honey and banana in the middle of the aroma. Light hops thrown in there in the backend along with some spicing.
T- This is where the beer knocks one out of the park. Nice apple flavors along with some spices. The sweet malts kick in and mix well with the bitter hops in this beer. The balance is almost perfect with it leaving to the sweet malts more than anything.
M- Medium mouthfeel. Light carbonation for the entire beer. Light bitter hops and tons of sweetness are what is left on the palate and in the aftertaste. Light drying in the mouth after sips.
D- This beer has a sweetness to it that I enjoy. Not too overly sweet but nevertheless this was a one and done for me. I did enjoy it and others should seek it out.

Pale cloudy orangy amber with a huge white head. Head is gone so fast it makes your head spin!
Smells lightly of the oil from an orange peel (when you fold it and make them spray out) and musty laundry. A bit of Orangina in there (maybe that's just the bubbling from all of that head). Coriander.
An interesting dry/sweet/spiced/not experience in the mouth. I want to say that it's dry for a trip but many of the flavors I find are sweet - candi sugar and coriander. Big astringency (over-extraction. Boy, do I know that one. Sucks, man) and some citric bitterness. Bananas. Oh, good grief, but bananas. Whoa.
Rich and thick yet carbonated enough that it's not too syrupy. So, yeah. They get knocked on appearance 'cause it's too carbonated but that very same extra carbonation helps greatly with the mouthfeel. I mean, without it this would be an undrinkable syrupy mess. Tough situation to be in. I suppose that ideally I'd knock down both the carbonation and malt temp - take the mouth down and not overcarbonate.
It's OK. Certainly good to compare the different things out there. It's unfortunate that it just seems there's so little going on in the flavor.
Oh, and, hey, the bottle rocks.

a: strong haze in this yellow tripel. wheat look to it. nice head retention with a quarter inch white head. thicker than I'd expect on a swirl...syrupy look to it.
s: light clove aroma, vanilla and toffee in here as well. not strong odors here.
t: nice clove and freshly baked cookie taste to it. Belgian yeast strain definitely used in this one. nutmeg, cinnamon perhaps. variety of spice, but like the nose, they aren't too strong. the yeast takes center stage with a light fruit profile at the end. Apple or pear perhaps.
m: creamy and rich. nice carbonation. coats well and is crisp. good finish on it.
o: flavors and smell could be stronger, but the belgian yeast strain gets to shine here and tastes like a biscotti. very solid tripel but could have used a touch more punch.

Served in proper glassware. Cloudy yellow color, nice foamy white head. Head disappears quickly eventually leaving some lace on the sides of the glass. Nice fruity, spicy aroma. Slightly tart, spicy, along with the typical Belgian yeasty character. High carbonation, light body. This is a very drinkable beer. Finishes slightly dry. Very nice indeed. I believe that it was around 7 % ABV, so this could eventually catch up to you.

The appearance is golden in color, slightly coudy/hazy with a good, thick head. The aroma is complex with mild phenolics, pears, spices. On the palate, this is a wonderful beer, the malt and yeast character are in great balance. Low hop bitterness, little-to-no hop flavor. At over 9% ABV, there is no perceived booziness to this beer...fantastic!

Pours a hazy pale orange with a nice head that slowly faded, that left lots of nice lacing on the glass. Nice fruity/spicy aroma rose from my glass, that smell that lets you know its a belgian. Taste is sweet with a spicyness that really make this go down smooth. Enough malt character to make this such an easy drinking beer. But after a couple of these you know there is some potentcy here! Very well done Ted!
