Poured from an 18 ounce bottle into a Samuel Smith's pint glass.

A- Reddish-brown with a thick, pinkish-white head. Lots of lacing on the glass.

S- I caught some floral hoppy notes but mostly cherry juice.

T- This kinda shifted around. For most of the pint I got cherry juice, with some medicinal cough syrup bitterness at the end of some sips. Some sips I got the flavor of cherry pie.

M- Thin and carbonated.

O- This was a strange, kind of like cherry soda for the most part. It wasn't bad but this isn't something I would drink very often.

From the 550 ml. embossed bottle. Sampled on May 15, 2014.

It poured a slight cloudy reddish-amber with a decent beige head that fades after a few moments. It has a nice beer appearance.

Tart cherries and cherry juice are the most abundant scent on the nose but at the same time I do clearly pick up a little yeast and malt in the background.

The mouthfeel is in the medium range but it is heavier than I expected it to be. Smooth too.

Cherry fruit flavors with a tart finale. Cherries are one of my favorite fruits so unlike some fruit beers I have a higher tolerance for cherry beers. It was a welcome beverage on a warm night like tonight.

Picked this one up because Samuel Smith seems to be my favorite brewery and I also tend to like fruit beers, and I had not tried this one yet. Plus, it was priced at $3.44 for 550, perfect. Great looking beer with the dark color and an interesting pinkish head, result of the cherry I am sure. Smells more cherry than beer, which isn't all bad. Taste is similar to the smell, more of a cherry juice than beer, but absolutely delicious. Absolutely perfect with salsa and chips. I really like this a lot and at that price I am going to swing by and grab a few more to keep in the fridge for hot days when I want a beer, and sweet. It will be an alternative to their organic chocolate as desert beer. Plus, at that cost it is a great value. If you like fruit beer you will love this, if not, then still worth a try I would think.
