Definitely my favorite Fruit beer ever. Hands down. The first thing I noticed is its smell. I got strong notes of strawberry jam and honey with a slight citrus undertone. It smells absolutely delicious to say the least. The taste is very similar as well. I get creamy strawberry notes with honey, citrus, wheat and smooth malts to finish it off. Truly a masterpiece in my opinion. This is how Fruit beer should be in my head.

The appearance of this beer is good, it has a nice clean look to it and a nice gold color. The beer smells of fresh strawberries and smells really good. The taste on the other hand isn't that great. The first sip is good but as you start to drink it more and more the sweetness of the beer is almost too over powering. By the end of the glass I was just happy to be done with it. For me it was way to sweet of a beer

I picked this one up out of sheer curiosity. I've been seeing it for years and have always wondered, but never actually followed through. 550ml bottle, no date. Poured into an Imperial nonic. Hazy medium-amber with a solid finger and a half of creamy white head. Excellent retention and chunky strips of lacing.
The nose is filled with strawberry jam. Light, biscuity pale and lightly toasted malts are in the background.
The flavor is right where he nose hinted: strawberry and biscuit. Almost like strawberry jam on a scone. Despite its lack of complexity, it must be said that this tastes like real strawberries as opposed to a very artificial flavor I've seen in many fruit beers. Slightly tart finish, almost more reminiscent of a framboise than anything I'd expect from a strawberry-flavored beer.
Mouthfeel is wonderful. Light-medium body with subdued carbonation. Nice soft, velvety, and creamy mouthfeel.
Overall, this is not a complex beer, but it is a good beer. It's hard to figure out just how much fruit to add, and it's difficult to find a balance between sweetness and tart. This beer does pretty well. Fruit beers are very hit-or-miss with me, but Sam Smith's has yet to disappoint.
Also, this would make an excellent beer float.

500 ml bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 10/1/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big juicy strawberry, white sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal. Fantastic aromas with huge strawberry presence and balanced malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big juicy strawberry, sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal. Some slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of strawberry, white sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal on the finish for a while. Fantastic robustness and balance of juicy strawberry flavor and malt sweetness; with minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic fruit beer. Huge robustness of strawberry flavors and balanced malt sweetness; and extremely smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
