A- Pours a pinkish tone that is somewhat hazed....not sure if from chilling for from yeast....I'll go with the latter! The color of the head is just off white and starts about two fingers thick and really holds its form, leaving behind a thick one finger thick film over the brew! Carbonation is aggressive by looks and the lacing is somewhat modest....with small patches sticking to my glass....

S- This really smells like strawberries and cream! Underlying aromas of yeast, caramel and a syrupy note are included....the finish is non existent really....this is just pure freshly pressed strawberry juice that has been fermented into a simply yummy smelling brew!

T- Flavors follow the aromas very precisely! There is a fresh creamy tart strawberry fruit flavor that is simply refreshing and is very much like juice or a strawberry soda! Yeasty malt is noted....fresh barley grains and a rhubarb quality are blended into this as well. Excellent!

M/O- Heavy carbonation and a full dessert like body make this an ideal summer sipper or would go with strawberries and cream dessert! Alcohol is very well hidden and one really wouldn't know this is a beer without knowing. This is very delectable and I'd recommend....a great beer to get into craft and yet another great offering from Sam Smith!

Samuel Smith's Organic Strawberry Ale.

A: Orange-red in color. A bit over a finger of head. Decent lacing, but it doesn't stick. Good sheeting.

S: Now this is what I want to get from a strawberry beer. It smells like strawberry pancake syrup.

T/MF: Unfortunately, though it does come across more than other strawberry beers I've had, the strawberry flavor is quite muted. Still of the strawberry syrup vein. Dark bread-y base.

Strawberry love in a large bottle. Yum. Not too sweet but just enough to feel like you're running thru a strawberry patch on a beautiful summer day. Absolutely delicious. A must remember.

Outstanding fruit beer from one of the finest breweries in the world. Smooth yet complex, with a lovely bouquet and a yeasty, malty but highly refreshing flavor profile. The strawberries are naturally present but not overpowering.

Pours hazed golden amber with a fizzy head.

The smell is of strawberry with mild caramel.

The taste is of sweet, slightly tart, strawberry juice backed by some caramel. A refreshing mineral character mixes in. A subtle earthy hop touch (along with the touch of tart) balances the sweetness in the finish (though it does remain sweet overall).

Crisp and refreshing, it is lighter bodied, but not fizzy or thin.

A well-made strawberry beer. What I especially like is how there is a solid pale ale undertone to the strawberry and the sweet strawberry leans more real than artificial. I don't know that I would want more than a bottle at a time, but it is very nice for one!

355ml bottle into a snifter glass. Paid £2.29 for a single bottle.

Pours a hazy, pink-tinged, amber coloured body that when held to the light glows orange and pink to highlight plenty of small fast rising carbonation bubbles. A two-finger in height, white foamy head reduces to a thin patchy film and leaves a small amount of lacing on the glass.

Delightful aromas of fresh, sweet, juicy strawberries and lightly toasted malts float above the glass. It smells like strawberry jam spread on a toasted butter croissant, and is enormously inviting. Taste follows the nose; sweet strawberry jam dominates, but there is still enough toasty, bready, wheaty character to balance the beer on the whole. Although slightly sugary on the palate a large amount of carbonation gives a light to medium bodied mouth feel that is crisp and refreshing instead of sticky and cloying. The finish is clean and crisp with a natural, tangy dry acidity and subtle yeast bite.

Overall this is an excellent beer from an excellent brewery. Well balanced, easy drinking and refreshing. I am yet to find a bad Samuel Smith's beer. Would recommend.

Poured into a Samuel Smith sonic pint glass.

Look: The body is a light copper or amber color with insane amounts of bubbles rising from the bottom. A thick frothy cream colored cap takes forever to recede and leaves thick world map lacing.

Aroma: A true, pure strawberry aroma with sweet sugary cream blended in dominates. There's also a little tart ... very aromatic, absolutely pleasing to the nose.

Taste: Spot-on with the aroma, but a more hearty maltiness that gives some body to the beer ... the sweet and tart of the strawberry is obvious, but the taste has some depth as well.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light, very drinkable, not cloying.

Overall: Not huge into fruit beers, but the Sam Smith organic line is undeniably delicious, I love them.

A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of puréed strawberries are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of strawberry juice. Although it is tough to pick up any bit of the underlying ale, the beer masks any apparent sweetness from the fruit.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has nice aromas and flavors of strawberries. It's a good alternative if you want something a bit heavier than a fruity lambic.

I bought this with hesitation as I am normally not a fruit beer person but it is actually a really nice beer. Not artificial tasting and it has some body actually so it's still like a beer and not a strawberry soda. For the style very nice.

Samuel Smith's Organic Strawberry Fruit Beer has a very thick, frothy, off-white head, a mostly opaque, rust-red-orange appearance, and extremely heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of overwhelming strawberry juice, with a bready background. Taste is more bread oriented, with a strawberry juice and acid background. Bitterness is minimal. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and somewhat slick, and this beer finishes wet and sweet.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed red tinted color with two fingers of just off white head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is massive of a strawberry jam smell with a little bit of a bread smell as well.

Taste – The taste begins with a super sweet strawberry jam flavor, which really dominates the taste throughout. A little bit of grain comes to the tongue toward the middle, but this is very light, with the majority of flavor being strawberry. In the end a little bit of sourness of a mostly lemon variety comes to the tongue, leaving a lightly sour strawberry jam flavor on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly higher side. For the very sweet strawberry the thinness and carbonation are perfect really making for an easy sipping brew overall.

Overall – A desert beer certainly. Sweet but rather authentic in strawberry. A good go to if looking for something sweet and fruity.

Definitely my favorite Fruit beer ever. Hands down. The first thing I noticed is its smell. I got strong notes of strawberry jam and honey with a slight citrus undertone. It smells absolutely delicious to say the least. The taste is very similar as well. I get creamy strawberry notes with honey, citrus, wheat and smooth malts to finish it off. Truly a masterpiece in my opinion. This is how Fruit beer should be in my head.

The appearance of this beer is good, it has a nice clean look to it and a nice gold color. The beer smells of fresh strawberries and smells really good. The taste on the other hand isn't that great. The first sip is good but as you start to drink it more and more the sweetness of the beer is almost too over powering. By the end of the glass I was just happy to be done with it. For me it was way to sweet of a beer

I picked this one up out of sheer curiosity. I've been seeing it for years and have always wondered, but never actually followed through. 550ml bottle, no date. Poured into an Imperial nonic. Hazy medium-amber with a solid finger and a half of creamy white head. Excellent retention and chunky strips of lacing.

The nose is filled with strawberry jam. Light, biscuity pale and lightly toasted malts are in the background.

The flavor is right where he nose hinted: strawberry and biscuit. Almost like strawberry jam on a scone. Despite its lack of complexity, it must be said that this tastes like real strawberries as opposed to a very artificial flavor I've seen in many fruit beers. Slightly tart finish, almost more reminiscent of a framboise than anything I'd expect from a strawberry-flavored beer.

Mouthfeel is wonderful. Light-medium body with subdued carbonation. Nice soft, velvety, and creamy mouthfeel.

Overall, this is not a complex beer, but it is a good beer. It's hard to figure out just how much fruit to add, and it's difficult to find a balance between sweetness and tart. This beer does pretty well. Fruit beers are very hit-or-miss with me, but Sam Smith's has yet to disappoint.

Also, this would make an excellent beer float.

500 ml bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 10/1/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big juicy strawberry, white sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal. Fantastic aromas with huge strawberry presence and balanced malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big juicy strawberry, sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal. Some slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of strawberry, white sugar, light caramel, bread, and light herbal on the finish for a while. Fantastic robustness and balance of juicy strawberry flavor and malt sweetness; with minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic fruit beer. Huge robustness of strawberry flavors and balanced malt sweetness; and extremely smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

If you're looking for a refreshing beer for the summer....THIS IS IT! I bought this on a whim since I love the Organic Chocolate Stout and was not disappointed. It pours to a golden amber with an absolutely perfect head. The aroma is strictly strawberry and it goes down almost as fast as you can drink it.
I am usually a dark/stout drinker and this ale has converted me...give it a try.

First review. Love the bottle, somewhere between a bomber and a regular 12 oz. The smell of this beer is very noticeable, unlike some beers that do not smell like their underlying fruit. This one IS strawberries. Taste was good, but a strong sourness lingered. Not like drinking a lambic. Overall a good fruit beer.

Presentation: 19.2 oz brown bottle, served in a pint glass.

Appearance: Cloudy amber color, with a one finger head that dissolves into a layer of foam that stays over the beer at all times. There's no lacing at all on the glass.

Smell: It smells strongly of strawberry hard candy. It's a very sweet scent.

Taste: Very sweet, just like the nose. Strawberry and malt flavors are all that's here, there's no bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, smooth, with high carbonation. It gets quite cloying after a while, but it's not a big issue.

Overall: A very sweet beer with huge strawberry flavors and scents. Not revolutionary or special to be honest, but a very fun experience and a must have for fruit beer lovers.

550 ml bottle to Samuel Smith imperial tulip pint glass

Appearance: orangish with a red hue mixed in, bubbly white head

Smell: pure, almost overpowering strawberry smell. I can't get much else through it

Taste: again, pure strawberries up front with a little bit of hoppy flavor to balance it out on the finish. Much less overpowering than the smell

Mouth feel: light and crisp, as expected. Goes down super easy

Overall: not my favorite style, but I get cravings for a fruit beer once in a while and this one is what they say it is. Genuine strawberry through and through

Wow. When they say strawberry, they're not kidding! Just upon opening the bottle, even before the first pour, the sweet scent of fresh strawberries wafts from the bottle. Pouring into a glass only amplifies the strawberry-ness of this brew. The flavor lives up to the aroma, almost to a fault. The strawberry flavor is so forward it perhaps gets in the way of the beers other characteristics. This was, however, an enjoyable drink and worth a try for sure. After all, what's not to like about the flavor of fresh organic berries? I'd like to pair it with sweeter dessert foods next time instead of savory foods.

This is a strawberry fruit beer that tastes like...strawberries. It bears mentioning because my biggest gripe with "flavored" beers is that often-times, they have the name of a flavor written all over them, even smell like that flavor...and then you sip it and it tastes like unflavored beer.

This beer has a ruby-red pour that most should find entirely suitable for the style and a light head.

It smells like strawberries.
It tastes like strawberries...and beer.
Feels like...carbonated strawberry juice.
Overall? This is the best strawberry beer I've had. (Sample Size:1)

Why drink this beer? Because if you show up at a party with Redd's Strawberry Ale, your friends will hit you with sticks.

500 ml bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Another organically produced fruit beer from Samuel Smith's that I have overlooked for far too long. My label is a little different than the bottle pictured and says Samuel Smith's Organic Handcrafted Fruit Ale, no abv listed on the bottle, so my faith is in BeerAdvocate here. Excited to finally have this bottle, expectations are high.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass.

A - Pours a lightly murky orange colored body with perhaps a faint tint of pink thrown in there. Two fingers of fluffy off-white / tan head falls to a film. Looks pretty nice for what it is.

S - Smells of beautiful freshly cut strawberries and white sugar hits you immediately after uncapping the bottle. 'Vinous', juicy, and sweet smelling. Just a bit of dusty yeast presence to remind you that you are smelling a beer.

T - Ah yes, very lovely. Just how I'd hoped it would taste. Authentic strawberry juice, white sugar, strawberry jam, and some grapes. Very natural nasting, and not artificially sickening, if anything.

M - Just the right amount of fruity tartness / sugary sour. Finishes mostly clean with just a bit of sugary fruity stickiness on the palate.

Overall, another very nice organic outing from Samuel Smith's, who quickly became one of my favorite breweries last year, and continues to occupy that spot with mostly nothing but awesome beers. Can't wait to try more of these.

First off, this is a fruit beer, and a very fruity fruit beer at that. It is light. It is highly carbonated. It is sweet. It tastes like strawberries and vanilla. It might strike a few points off of your man card. But damned if it isn't tasty. It looks, tastes and smells more like strawberry soda than beer, but it tastes like fresh picked strawberries and not "strawberry flavored red chemical with benzene #8". I thoroughly enjoyed it on a hot day, but not something I'm going to grab for when I'm looking for a "beer".

Pours a hazy reddish-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of strawberry jam, strawberry jelly, and buttered toast. Taste is much the same with slightly sour strawberry and strawberry juice flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting buttered toast with strawberry jam smell and some solid strawberry flavors.
