550 ml rustic English bottle.

A - A nice effervescent pour of an amber bodied brew. Fizzy, patchy head fading to a thin lace.

S - This one is almost a dead ringer for strawberry preserves. So succulent and sweet, fruity and wonderful. Hardly a waft of beer ingredients, but not upset about that.

T - A perfectly smooth ale, with a subtle bitterness and sweet grain taste mixed with a huge strawberry explosion. The strawberry flavor isn't one of a candy-like or fake syrup kind. It's more the actual taste of real strawberry preserves. Definitely not any fresh strawberry here but in my opinion, strawberry preserves are the king of all preserves/jams/jellies. This is a pretty sweet beer but it's super balanced and delightful. Something close to this level of sweet fruit enjoyment would be Fruli.

M - Crisp, clean, effervescent and smooth. Light-medium bodied with a clean finish and a hint of dryness.

O - A truly enjoyable beer. Sam Smith is renowned for good brews and I'd rank this up there with the best of what they offer. This isn't one of those cheap beers with crummy fake fruit syrup flavor. Whether you like fruit beer or not, I'd recommend this one.

Poured from a 16.9 ounce bottle into a 6-ounce tasting glass.

A: Well-carbonated amber body with a hint of pinkish red beneath a frothy head of rose colored foam which stuck around nicely.

S: Sweet, fruity strawberry aroma rises with other juicy malt aromas and some toasted breadiness.

T: Medium-toasted malts give off some baked bread flavors to go hand in hand with subtle, strawberry juices. Minimal bitterness with a somewhat buttery, fruity and syrupy finish.

M: Pretty well balanced with a little more sticky sweetness from the strawberry juice than the hops could handle.

O: Not a bad fruit beer at all and one that's preferable to many North American extract wheat varietals. The 5.2% ABV make this offering a nice after dinner drink for summer either with a strawberry shortcake or slice of watermelon.

Clear orange hue with a soft peach head, nice sticky lacing. Smells of fresh strawberry sherbert or strawberries and cream even.

Brisk carbonation with a body on the thinner side of medium. Sweet strawberry flavor throughout, silky mouthfeel. Some pale malt shines through and a touch of either yeast bite or hop kicks in to remind you it's still a beer. The snap at the end balances the beer pretty well with only a touch of lingering sweetness.

Good balance and refreshing. Doesn't taste artificial like other fruit beers but it is very close to tasting like sparkling strawberry juice.

Appearance: straw colored, nice big white head. Loads of bubbles.
Smell: Straight up sweet strawberries. Simple and wonderful.
Taste: More of the same. Simple and delicious.
Overall : this is dangerously drinkable. I love a complex barrel aged stout but I can't imagine a better fit for this hot May Ga. Evening.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 2.5

Appearance - Pours an orangish/apricot color with a half inch thick, off-white head that dissipates instantly.

Smell - Very sweet and I can only detect strawberry aromas..

Taste - WAY too fruity.. Extremely sweet and you have to really love strawberries to enjoy this beer. Slightly bitter in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Overall - I'm honestly grossed out by this beer... I can't handle more than a couple sips of it lol.

From the look I would guess this to be a regular IPA as opposed to a fruit ale. It pours an apricot color with a fleeting, bright white head.

Nose is all strawberry juice. You can pick it up as soon as you pop the cap, the smell turns the room into a strawberry field. A bit too strong.

You really have to like fruit to enjoy this beer. It's extreme fruit juice. There is some carbonation and it makes it hard to distinguish this as a beer as opposed to some ridiculously sweet soft drink. There are some spices I picked up as well, cinnamon maybe, but this is all strawberry.

Very carbonated, very sweet with some spices and the carbonation added for balance. Slightly tart finish.

It's not something I'd want to have every day, but would make a good beer for the warmer weather months. Not bad, just a bit extreme in all characteristics.

Poured from 550mL bottle into a pint glass. Bottle overflowed annoyingly upon opening.

Appearance: light orange hue with a light haze and a finger of pillowy white foam. Leaves a nice lace on the glass.

Smell: light, sweet strawberry aroma. Surprisingly fresh and pleasing.

Taste: sweet strawberry flavor which is almost creamy. There's a touch of tartness there as well which brings out the freshness. It's a bit cloying, though, and too sweet for me.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and concomitant creaminess. I like it.

Overall: this is a tasty and drinkable fruit brew. It's a bit on the sweet side, but that's not unusual for the style. If you like strawberries, you should like this beer.

T-very sweet. strawberries all the way through. Maybe a bit of malt towards the finish as well.

O-pretty good. Very sweet. best fruit beer I have had. To much carbonation, but besides that a pretty good beer.

A: Pours a hazy light ruby in color with a two finger tall off-white/pink head. The head reduces to a thin layer of bubbles with a thicker ring of bubbles at the edges of the glass. The beer exhibits significant lacing.

S: Very sweet strawberry is the primary flavor but not as sweet as a soda or juice. Very pleasant.

T: The flavor is both sweet and sour strawberry, there is a very subtle hint of malts but not a lot.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Really enjoyable like the other Sam Smith fruit beers. Very sessionable and something I will definitely get again.

A - Poured from a bottle into a chalet. Poured a hazy amber with reddish highlights. Head was ginormous with sticky lacing all around the glass.

S - Sweet and sour strawberries up front followed by...strawberries. Almost a smell similiar to a starwberry wine cooler. This has an attractive scent to it.

T - Straight up sweet strawberry soda. I can't really taste any malts in there. It kind of tastes like a strawberry cough syrup to the end of it.

M - Carbonated like a soda with sweet feeling left in the mouth.

O - I think I'd rather drink a BL lime over this. This actually made my stomach turn a little. I think the smell of this beer might give me a gag reflex. Not my thing, but if somebody wants a strawberry beer...are there many other options?

From Notes: Had this beer with salmon. Poured from bottle into a stem glass.

Appearance: Nice red color, not blood red but still an artificial color.

Aroma: Cool aid and or air freshener strawberry, maybe a hint of real fruit somewhere. Carbonation is crazy on this beer it looks a lot like some sort of ginger ale.

Mouthfeel: light mouthfeel and highly carbonated.
Taste: Very sweet, kind of pleasing…… Ok, this beer tastes surprisingly good and it pairs well with fish.

Overall: I was completely surprised with this fruit beer. I will buy this again sometime.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had an amber color and a hazy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: As you might expect, the strawberries take center stage in the aroma. A powerful scent.

T: Like the smell, the taste was dominated by strawberries, but there was a hint of malt in this as well. Not exactly a complex beer, but pretty tasty nonetheless.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a somewhat slick finish. Light- to medium-bodied.

O: This is a thoroughly enjoyable beer. If you like strawberries check it out.

From the pour, we see that it is a hazy shade of orange. The head still has not subsided, and it's leaving lace on the sides of the glass. The aroma is of strawberry preserves. This is a very strong and good aroma. Taste is berries up front. I got a slightly sour note, but it was quick and went away. Overall I'd give this beer another go around. Very good.

A- a hazy bright orange with a small head and lace on the glass.

S- tons of strawberry, jam, some sour notes, very sugary.

T- the strawberries really come through, but it is more of a strawberry syrup, I would prefer a natural strawberry, but it is still nice. It is very sweet, but a nice dose of tartness at the end balances it out.

O- A nice change up, not something I would gravitate to, but a good sweet alternative.

English pint sized bottle (no date) poured into a Tulip stout glass.

Appearance: Slightly hazy orange-copper beer with a hint of strawberry juice color when you pour it - that tiny bit of pink/orange/yellow that you see with that type of juice. The beer had a thin white skin of foam across the top, with a few tiny strands of persistent lacing here and there.

Smell: Definite strawberry - like a strawberry lifesaver hard candy. It's quite sweet and concentrated, and comes across as a little bit artificial. It's not that fresh strawberry fruit smell, but there is no mistaking what's in this beer from that smell.

Taste: Strawberry again. It is much like drinking a glass of strawberry juice. If there is beer in there, it's very well hidden. You get the strawberry up front, then more sweetness in the middle (some caramel type malt flavors) along with more strawberry, and then some sour twang at the end. As it warms up the caramel in the middle becomes more notable and some buttery flavors come out too finally making you think that there is a beer in here. The sweetness is not cloying, but it is still a very lopsided flavor profile beer. But maybe that's the point.

Mouthfeel: Decent carbonation for an English ale - sticky and a little chewy, and, definitely juice-like.

Overall / Drinkability: I think one has to be in the mood for this beer. This beer truly is a good blend of strawberry juice and beer, but the flavor is lopsided. You really have to like strawberries to like this beer in my opinion. The beer is there for the alcohol and the carbonation, and the color and the head - but that's where it ends. Wider flavor profile when it's near room temperature, but still, it's strawberry juice in beer, not beer brewed with strawberries and that's an important distinction in my opinion. So an interesting flavor beer, but not something I'm really crazy about or I would pick up again.

Poured from a 550ml bottle into a pint glass.

This pours an amber color with a slightly off white head, a very slight hint of pink. The smell is of strawberries, with a malts. The taste is okay, its not very tart, so you get mostly the sweetness of strawberries with a little hop bite at the end, also with the strawberries there is a little beer malt which is kind of a different combination. This was a pretty good beer, my lady friend liked it, but I think their tart raspberry beer is far better (although oddly most everyone else I talked to seems to prefer this).

1pint 2.7 oz. bottle from "Lifesource", Salem. $5.95 Nice slightly hazy amber colured ale..small slightly off white head. Very strawberry nose, but for me although pleasing it comes out more like a good quality Strawberry Jam than fresh strawberries. Better more nuanced strawberry taste that melds very well with the caramel type malts..the two work surprisingly well. Nice on the tongue..great carbonatin levels lend to drinkability. Overall a very nice drinkable fruit beer..that has loads of fruit but is not sickeningly sweet.

My girlfriend bought this beer over a shopping impulse after seeing "strawberry juice" on it, so we gave it a try. She doesn't like beers that much, but she liked this one because it doesn't taste like beer at all! ...And I don't know if that's a plus.

A: Hazy amber color, with a thick foamy head about an inch tall that dissipates to a thin lace and then disappears.

S: Strawberries all over the nose. Honestly, I can't smell a thing that isn't strawberry yoghurt and tartiness.

T: Too much strawberry for me, it tastes straightforward like a strawberry soda, including the light carbonation. According to my girlfriend, it tastes like strawberry soda mixed with the lightest beer out there. You can taste a little hint of beer at the end, but I'm not sure if it's yeast, malt or wheat because of the faint taste.

M: Soda-ish, with the carbonation and the strong strawberry flavor. I can't think of anything more appropriate than that of a soda mouthfeel here.

Overall, a beer for people who doesn't like beer. My girlfriend liked it because the bitterness of the hops is very well hidden in this beer, and it doesn't taste much like beer at all! I didn't liked it because of the strong strawberry flavor it has, it's just too much for me. I prefer a strong chocolatey stout over this any time.

I didn't liked it, but she did! so 3.5 for effort (and because we finally found a beer for her)

550ml bottle poured into a Pint Glass.

A - Pours a hazy orange-red with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a slight haze.
S - Uhhh....strawberries. I'm really getting a strawberry yogurt thing here, lots of strawberries, a bit of tartness, perhaps just a whiff of sweet cereal grain.
T - Yeah, that is definitely a strawberry beer! Tastes a lot like a strawberry candy, someone below me said Pez and that sounds about right. Strawberry Pez and sweet cereal grains. Not really my thing, but I guess if you're a strawberry fan this would be right up your alley.
M - Syrupy, with a medium mouth-feel and moderate carbonation.
O - Borderline novelty beer for me, just way too sweet and fruity. No thanks.

The pours a pretty cool looking redish pink color, it has a decent off white head. The smell is pretty strong with fermented sweet strawberry on the nose. Some basic sugars on the nose and not much else. The taste is sweet and just a little bit tart with strawberry. The mouthfeel is light but very flavorful. This beer makes a very good desert beer. Goes very well with creme brûlée. Enjoyable.

Sam'l Smith's Organic Strawberry Fruit Ale pours a murky, deep honey-colored yellow with little to no head. The beer smells of strawberries -- overwhelming strawberries. It tastes of strawberries, too, and apricots. Organic Strawberry Ale is carbonated, but also a bit syrupy. It's definitely not sessionable, but it's not cloyingly sweet, either. It's a contrast, and very good for the style. Think hot weather and a change of pace, and you'll be on the right path.

Poured from a 550 ml bottle into a Chimay glass. Pours a rosé color, a pink-gold with minimal white head that quickly dissipates.

Definite strawberry, hints of honey, malt, and bits of citrus. Very floral, with undertones of apple.

Sweet strawberry, grape, and apricot start it out, mostly sweet and slightly tart, fairly malty with no bitterness to finish.

Light bodied, this tastes best cool to cold. Becomes maltier as it warms.

I'm not a big fan of real sweet fruit beers like this, but Sam Smith makes a great product, and if I've got to drink a strawberry beer, this is the one.

A: A reddish orange with a thick off white colored head.

S: Smells like a breakfast cereal with berries. Not the greatest beer aroma, but pleasant and very up front.

T: More of the breakfast cereal in the flavor. Some nice malt flavor that is overpowered by a nice strawberry creaminess.

M: Very smooth and medium bodied. Very good mouthfeel to this beer.

O: Typically don't like the fruity beers, but this one is good. A little strong, but the flavor is nice.

Appearance - Hazy amber body with an offwhite head.

Smell - Strawberry milk made with Nesquik. And a bit of caramel.

Taste - Tastes great. Light and refreshing flavor. Plenty of sweetness, but not overdone or artificial tasting. Think of it as a lambic and it's great.

Mouthfeel - Great mouthfeel. Light, carbonated well, refreshing, and clean.

Overall Drinkability - Great beer. Highly recommended. Great for a hot summer day. Would make for some really interesting food pairings too.
