Poured from a big bottle into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint. Huge creamy 3-finger head with beautiful lacing that's rather fickle about hanging around too long. Almost coal black with red highlights.

Aroma is of roasted malts, dark, sweet fruits and a light hoppiness. The taste is dominated by the roasted malts with smokiness and a long lasting bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. It's very drinkable, a good sessionable beer.

One of my all time favorites. You can't go wrong with Taddy Porter anytime of day or night. The standard for an English porter in my opinion.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into point glass. It has a black appearance with low to no transparency and a small tan head. It has a hoppy and roasted malt smell. It has a very roasted taste with a medium maltiness. It has a creamy mouth feel with a wet finish. Overall it's a nice porter with a good roasted character.

Serving type: 18.7 ounce Victorian bottle poured into a Belgian style tulip.

Appearance: Looks great in the glass, creamy tan head with tiny bubbles, beautiful lacing even all around the glass, dark, nice head retention despite some shrinkage.

Smell: chocolate, roasted malt smell up front, not overpowering, fruity smell on the back, cherry like aroma, not a heavy aroma like a stout a bit lighter.

Taste: Roasted malt up front, some bitterness, not much, fruity dark cherry flavor on the back, great flavor.

Mouthfeel: Of the Sam Smith's beers I have tried this appears to me the most impressive, they have smooth creamy feel, some carbonation, their beers flow smoothly through the palate.

Overall: Awesome porter, very drinkable, 5%, not as bitter or roasted as some American porters but the balance is great, world class English porter.
