pours dark brown with some red highlights and a two finger tan head than lingers. has some of the most interesting lacing i have ever noted in a beer - reminds me of spotting animals in cloud formations as a kid.
nose of molasses, dark chocolate, raisin. gives you a good lead in to the taste.
flavors of chocolate and roasted malts with dark fruity overtones and molasses, followed by faint bitterness in the finish. this one is rich, fairly complex and well balanced, but i'd like just a bit more bitterness.
mouthfeel is amazing. soft, smooth and creamy with just the right amount of co2. feels like a cozy warm bed on a chilly fall night.
quite enjoyable and very, very drinkable. definitely in the top three for the style imo. if you've ever wanted to know what a porter should taste like, this would be a good place to start.

Pours a nice clear deep chocolate brown with a thin layer of white head. Great retention, looks fantastic after the pour.
Smells like a great light/medium roasted coffee with some hints of cocoa and smoke. Some sweetness is present with tinges of nuts.
Tastes follows up on the nose with an addition of extra flavour. coffee, cocoa and the presence of nuts is reminiscent of amaretto. Lots of flavours perfectly mixed.
Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Very smooth and a bit slick on the tongue while remaining refreshing.
Quite an impressive porter, complex with great flavour and nose. It's a bit thin for my personal taste but that won't stop me from hopefully having it again!
