Deep black/brown colour, with a thick and creamy beige head on top. It looks very appetizing.

Sweet, chocolatey, fruity nose with lots of roasty malt. Some coffee.

Flavours of coffee, chocolate, some caramel sweetness, some black-malt acidity, Not much hop flavour, but adequate hop bitterness to bring it all home. I guess this is one of the definitive porters, and it shows.

In the mouth it's smooth and creamy. I could drink a lot of this, without a doubt.

Poured from a 550 mL bottle into glass.

A: Pours dark, opaque brown/black with tan head that forms lace.

S: Sweet coffee, caramel aroma

T: caramel, coffee flavor followed by a mildly tangy but floral aftertaste. some floral hops but the malt is profiled in this brew. A slight amount of dried fruit rounds out the flavor

M: medium mouthfeel, not syrupy but somewhat heavy in gravity. Not viscous or syrupy.

D: Would pair well with a steak or beef meal with chips. a little heavy but packs full flavor.

This beer is black with a thick cream color head. The smell is sweet, roasted, and coffee like. The taste is malty, roasted, and sweet. The mouthfeel is heavy, just shy of chewy. I think that this is a great example of a porter beer. The smoothness and flavor make it quite drinkable.

Appearance - Very dark brown with a fluffy light tan head, lacing hugged the glass well.

Smell - Chocolate, fresh hops, pleasant aroma.

Taste - Light on the palate, nice chocolate flavors, not so bold as I expected.

Mouthfeel - Very nice, creamy.

Drinkability - Soft and easy. Goes down well, will gladly have another when available.
