Dark brown body topped with a thick, sticky light tan head. Rich molasses and sweet chocolate entice the nose; caramel and toffee notes. Malt and vanilla flavor dominates the taste with a slight sourness; light bitterness. Medium-heavy body; smooth and rich.

An excellent porter with soul-soothing character. A smooth, rich, chocolatey mouth treat.

I was very excited to drink this beer and I was not disappointed from the moment I poured the 12oz. bottle into my Samuel Smith's Imperial pint glass. This was a perfect glass to show off the thick tan head which was about 2 inches deep. The body of the beer was dark brown but not quite black.

The aromas coming from this beer got me even more excited to drink this beer. There was a very strong vanilla extract smell present to go along with the chocolate aromas. It almost smelled like a Black and White milkshake. I probably let the beer sit for 5 minutes before I took a drink because I didn't want to stop breathing in the aromas.

But I eventually took my first taste and again it did not disappoint. The vanilla was still present but the chocolate was more prominant this time and it had a hint of molasses. The finish was creamy to the mouth and very quaffable. I could drink this stuff all day and hopefully one day I have the pleasure to do so.

I recommend this beer to anyone who likes porters. It is one of the best I have tried if not the best. I mean all you need to do is look at the reviews and scores of this beer to realize that it is a great one.

Pours dark, dark brown with hints of ruby at the edges and a one finger off-white head. Lacing is pretty much nonexistent.

The nose is a smooth melding of chocolate, coffee, raisins, and rum.

The immediate taste is bready and slightly tart with some raisin/fig and slight smokiness, followed by some coffee and dry cocoa bitterness.

There is not much carbonation and a nice smooth creamy mouthfeel that gives way to moderate dryness.

Surprisingly the alcohol is slightly noticeable at 5%, but it doesn't really detract from the drinkinabilty as this beer is incredibly smooth. I could session this one all night.

Very dark brown, not quite black and not quite opaque. Head that looks the the head of a dry stout, very fine bubbles.
Toffee and caramel in the smell with a slight bit of toastiness.
Very smooth like a light coffee in the taste. Just a hint of coffee bitterness.
Smooth as silk. What a great beer. It gets better as it goes down.

A-Pours a dark almost balck with a hint of a rosy red color. This head pours tall and tan with great retention and lacing.

S-The aroma is of dark fruits first like prunes and some slight chocolate and roasted barley underneath along with fruity esthers melding with all other things.

T- The flavor is much the smae with a soft earhty hoppiness blending well with the fruity easther, chocolate, dark fruits and a very soft bitterness to boot.

M-A creamy, almost syrupy medium mouthfeel and at the very very end, it turns dry! So very nice.
