A: Pours a crystal clear, light wheat in color with a good amount of creamy head atop. Carbonation looks lively, lots of creamy lace is present as you drink, gradually sliding down to head level. Head retention is great, probably the best I've seen in this category. Looks the part of a refreshing lager!

S: Sweet malts, light grains (corn is especially predominant), with lots of grass and notes of honey, apple and white grapes. No hint of skunk and not overly astringent (though more so as it warms). Classic European pale lager characteristics.

T: Follows the nose well. Lots of sweet malts and grains up front followed by lots of grass, apple, butter and even a bit of corn as it opens up on the tongue. Lingering flavor is butter, corn and sour apple. Very clean on the palate with no metal and no skunk. Everything you want from a pale lager and nothing you don't.

M: Very light with strong carbonation. While this is to be expected from the style, I don't particularly care for strongly carbonated brews. It's thin and watery with a tiny bit of butteriness. Very smooth, finishes crisp and dry.

O: This is a classic European pale lager that excels in appearance and drinkability. Very sessionable and quite modest, it delivers a distinctive pale lager flavor without the downsides that accompany many and would pare nicely with a variety of foods, especially light meats and anything greasy (I'd love to wash down some fish and chips with this one). I've come to expect this level of quality from Samuel Smith and they again did not disappoint here. Extra kudos for brewing organic. Cheers!

Appearance: 2"+ fluffy white head recedes slowly. Moderate lacing and moderate carbonation. Color is straw and mostly clear.
Aroma: smell is of fruity hops (almost a grape/raisin aroma), yeasty bread, and lightly toasted malts.
Mouthfeel: light and slightly sticky. Finishes crisp, dry, and refreshing.
Flavor: nicely balanced lager with sweet malts holding forth but enough floral hops to even it out. Overall: I can’t find anything to criticize about this beer. Excellent and enjoyable.

Poured a pale straw color with a tall, foamy head. The head disapated quickly and left a bit of lacing. Citrusy aroma from the mug I poured it into. Pleasant taste -- malty with a crisp, wheaty finish. Excellent palette ... creamy and smooth. I would stock up on this one if it wasn't quite expensive ($4+ for a 550 ml bottle).
