Nice dark amber colour with a nice malted nose. This beer is something I would pair with a BBQ rack of ribs, since that is what I think of as I drink. Nice and filling and yet has a delicate finish that let’s you ponder the subtle spice. This is a very nice brew.

Appearance: Amber/copper; huge foam on bottle opening, but didn't last in glass

Aroma: Malty; dried fruit; hints of butterscotch

Taste: Sligthly dry, bitter start moving quickly into malty, juicy, vinous fruit mid; finishes with a dry, nutty flavor

Remarks: Pretty well balanced; pretty good flavor overall

Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

a: a clean golden amber w/ a 1/4" white head that fizzes up and fades; a center column of white bubbles can be seen through the clear body

s: sweet grainy malts; hay; sweet honey; light grape; light hoppy bitterness; apples

t: grainy malts; dry grain; light bitterness; to me this is typical boring englishness

m: a little too much carb for me; light cloy; light/med mouthfeel; a little aggressive for an english beer the way i see it

d: the beer is very mellow and light and very english standard in terms of all of its parts except the overcarbing. I think this is a good drinkable beer that is perhaps more than the sum of its parts in its classic drinkability, but it may be a little boring for some (like me)

NIce looking ale with A brilliant, bright copper red color and clarity like no tomorrow. Nice rich head and lacing that clings very nicely.

Rich malt aroma. Reminded me of honey and raisins @ the same time. Some floral hop in the back.

Malt was pre-imminent over the hop in the initial swig. Earthy. Dry, dry finish.

Smooth, maybe a touch high on the carbonation side of things.

Nice and if I was in a pub 'over there' I certainly could have more than one, but I found something about it that was slightly off compared to other EPA's i've tried.
