Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a relatively dry ale with rich nutty colour and palate of beech nuts, almonds and walnuts.

A - Clear deep chestnut brown with a good sized foamy off-white head. Nice retention settling into a nice lacing.
S - Nutty and a good amount of toasted malt, grain, caramel, and toffee. A bit of English hops, mostly herbal and some earthiness.
T - A lot of nutty flavor is present throughout the sip. Along with that is a slight earthy taste too. Starting off the sip is a fair amount of toasted malt along with some caramel and toffee as well as some grain. This weakens and the nutty earthy taste comes more to the forefront. This gives it a slightly bitter taste that finishes pretty dry. Slight mineral taste on the finish as well.
M - Medium to full body with slightly above average carbonation. Pretty smooth and a drying finish.
D - Nice drinkability that goes down easy and is well balanced in regards to flavors.
Notes: A nice brown ale that is slightly sweet with the malts and slightly bitter. Good amount of nut flavors as the name suggests. Easy drinker and a solid everyday kind of beer.

I am stating to drink beer with my eyes. I have been sampling several dark beers as of late and this one did it too as well as my beloved Guinness stout.
This brew gets a very high score and I can see why after letting it settle and warm up a bit .
There are subtle aromas and tastes that l find hard to describe albeit very pleasant.

Beautiful ruby brown and perfectly clear. Nice frothy finger or two of tan head from the can.
Sweet malty English yeast on the nose
Ever so slightly syrupy, low carb feel.
Malt covered biscuit with a touch of honey covered burnt toast.

Strongly sweet and molasses-y aroma. Rapidly dissipating head. Clear dark amber. Mouthfeel is somehow both light and syrupy. Very little aftertaste. Delicious

poured from a 550mL bottle into a half pint glass. pours dark maroon to light brown with a big khaki colored head. amaretto and a slight nutty chocolate on the nose. taste follows. it’s simple but it’s fully flavored, especially for 5%. medium-full mouthfeel. finishes a little watery. pretty classic nut brown.

Smells like toasted nuts and raisins
Tastes like toasted hazelnuts, cocoa, and raisins
Medium bodied and appropriately carbonated, almost goes down too easy
