A - Orange, slight haze, mostly transparent, with a short white head that fades out to a thin layer with very minimal lacing.

S - Fruit bomb, mostly of the beer's namesake, but also of other stone fruits, like peaches. Yeasts throw off sour elements, also. Very reminiscent of fruit lambics, which is a good, good thing.

T - Sweet and sour, apricot without the texture that puts me off the fruit. Finish is fairly standard turn toward the sour.

M - Acidic, but very clean, mild carbonation.

O - I love good fruit beers, and this is a very good fruit beer. The apricot is delicious, and fully realized. I will definitely get this again; it is top notch.

550 ml bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 6/24/2013. Pours lightly hazy bright gold color with a 2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge apricot, peach, orange, pear, honey, wheat, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance of juicy apricot, fruity yeast ester, and malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big tart apricot, peach, orange, pear, wheat, honey, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of apricot, peach, pear, apple, wheat, honey, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic robustness of juicy apricot, fruity yeast ester, and pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/tartness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly slick/syrupy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic fruit beer. Tons of robust and balanced tart apricot and pale malt sweetness; and extremely smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. ApricotGolden color with a thick white head.

S: Heavy apricot aroma.

T: Tastes like I am taking a bite out of an apricot. Samuel Smiths really did the apricot justice.

M: Medium bodied finish

O: One of my favorite fruit beers. Everything I want to come through in a fruit style beer did.

This is a refreshing summertime beer that would pare well with dishes ranging from fresh fruit salads to crisp creme brulees and even an apricot pie in the evening. The beer pours with a soft quickly dissipating head and releases a soft but pleasant peach aroma. The flavor is forward and short with sweet peach flavors retaining some of the fleshiness of a peach skin and finishes with a tart flavor that is long in the mouth. I believe I will be enjoying this beer with a better planned dessert.
