12 oz bottle into Hardywood Park tulip. cant seem to make out this bottle code...
A: pours a very dark brown hue. looks practically black in the glass. head is closer to a light brown than a white. retention is good as it remains throughout the entire drink. lacing is spotty.
S: wow this smells like chocolate milk. some lactose, but mostly tons of chocolate here. milk chocolate, not your typical dark chocolate/big stout nose. pretty one-note, but I don't even care.
T: flavor is super similar to the nose. boatload of milk chocolate, plenty of lactose to keep things light/sweet, even has a significant amount of residual sugar that leaves a Kalua-like flavor. which can turn a little medicinal after mulling it over on the pallet, but I may just be being picky.
M: mouthfeel is super mellow. let's the sweets do the talking. nice. medium bodied.
D: this is right up there with top chocolate milk/sweet stouts that I have had to date. a shade below Young's, but on par with Rogue's and ST (while not nearly being as big). certainly worth picking up if you can and if you are a fan of this style.
