Notes/Commercial Description:
Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard water is drawn from 85 feet underground), the gently roasted organic chocolate malt and real organic cocoa used in this ale impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavours and a delightful finish - this is the perfect marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate that will lead to smiles and refills. Samuel Smith's brews in traditional coppers, uses stone 'Yorkshire Squares' for fermentation, and ships every bottle from the brewery with great pride.

This beer is almost better than Bishops Barrel 5! Almost... Great beer by the way. The only thing that could be better is if they matched the taste with the smell. The chocolate taste does not really stand out in it for me. It smells like a old school crunch bar but taste kind of like a lite stout. Beer overall was good, but could have been better.

A: Dark brown with an amber tinge near the edge when held to the light. 2 fingers of beige head.

S: Chocolate, chocolate milk, dark chocolate, milk chocolate.

T: Sweet chocolate, chocolate milk, sweet, not getting any alcohol, light bitterness.

M: Medium thick body, medium low carbonation.

O: Very appealing, delicious chocolate beer. Bought in Canton NC’s Ingles, Drank on Deerfield Beach FL, July 15, 2014. I honestly think this is the best chocolate style brew I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few.
