This place personifies the recent beer-boom in Colombia. why? because it is basically a copy of the beer-pioneers Bogota Beer Company. a damn good copy, that is.

The atmosphere is quite commendable. almost all the establishment is set outdoors- a small, well beer-decorated fraction is set inside a red brick building. the outer area happily has some heating, otherwise it'd be unbearable. and it was a bit chilly nonetheless. the music isn't fantastic but isn't too loud either, and it's clearly advantageous that it's in front of a busy street so you can just focus elsewhere. not too busy either, as in not enough to disturb you.

The quality of the place is good too. they've certainly got their priorities straight: Beer. however, the menus must've been typed by an ignorant assistante somewhere which read WarFteiner and Erdinger WeiBbier. I just let that go by, the rest is otherwise running smoothly.

The service is also good. despite the size of the place- whole lotta tables there- the 5 or 6 waiters manage to get around quite swiftly and don't really lag behind on anything. quite kind, too. good at their jobs.

The selection is great for a colombian place. I was glad that their focus was mostly on the imports and their House beers (and the mixes within), leaving but a small space on the menu for "National Beers", which only add to two available. their own brews have the same standard Bogota price for this sort of drink (7k cop for a pint), yet the imports ranged between 1 and 3k cop cheaper than elsewhere-great value.

The food is quite like the selection at the BBC, but luckily stands quite inexpensive, and good too.

Doubtless, this place is a worthy visit in Bogota. I hope they get around to doing more stuff and expanding a bit.

Stopped in at the Beer Station the other night. It was a little less crowded than the Bogota Beer Company. Sat outside in a cool beer garden type atmosphere. They had the propane heaters going so even for a cool night in Bogota it was still shirt sleeve weather.

The menu is simple and contrite. They serve a small variety of in house beers 4 + 1 seasonal. Basic flavors. Good selection of servings from 12 oz to half-litre to litre to pitcher. The right size for any one person or group. They also had a full bar selection of other beers and liquors.

The in-house beer was tasty. The seasonal beer was the best of all. The service was punctual even though the place was full. The prices are very reasonable for what you get for beverages.

The food, however, was unimpressive. The picada was good, but other items where nothing special. The portions were small and you need to order at least one or two items per person to have something to munch on.

All in all, a good place to enjoy a brew amongst the Bogota yuppie crowd.
