This review is long overdue. I'm a big MacG's fan and when I heard they were opening in the old Charlie's Coldwater Station location in Gates, I was psyched! You see, I live just a mile and a half away. A MacG's in my backyard - how cool is that! So anyway, there are only 50 taps at this location. Only 50... New stuff doesn't seem to rotate in too often but there are plenty of good choices. I like to order a blend of Southern Tier's Porter and IPA (50/50). It's great!!

The place is fairly large with plenty of dining area, but the bar itself is kind of small. I'm a bar guy. I like to sit at the bar, and here there just isn't much bar to be had. The bar staff seems to turn over frequently, but the service is always good.

The decor is classic MacG's right down to the black & white floor. The menu is the same as the other locations, so you know what you're getting. Basic, but good, bar food. Like all the MacG's, there are daily and monthly beer specials of 20 OZ imperial pints at great prices.

If you're in the area, and looking for a GOOD beer - by all means stop in and check it out.

It doesn't have the charm or service of my local(perinton) MacGregors nor does it have the assload(120) taps that the Henrietta one has but it is still a nice bar because it is MacGregor's and they are the shit. The atmosphere was was of emptiness, it was satruday night 10 PM. It is a long green on the inside building. I don't think it needs to be this big but whatever. The beer selection isn't huge but there is plenty of good stuff to be had. All 20oz oktoberfests were 2 dollars and 50 cents and that includes saranac, spaten, warsteiner, sam adams. The food is great as always.

Headed this way tonight. Been to MacGregor's in Henrietta before too long ago to review but I remember it was good and had a killer selection of beer on tap. This Mac G's is set in an old train station, which is pretty cool. The number of taps is substantially less than the Mac G's in Henrietta but they still manage to have some quality beers on tap. The service was good our waitress checked up on us often and kept the beers filled. After reading some reviews on the place from other BA's I went with a recommended potato boats and a buffalo chicken sandwich both were excellent. Prices were moderate to on the pricey side for a dinner at a bar but it was still worth it. There were some decent beer specials for craft brew $2.00 for a 20oz pint which I missed by about 10 minutes. But the regular beer prices weren’t outrageous by any means. Atmosphere was mixed some dinner crowed some bar crowed not bad for a Thursday night some good tunes playing. All in all, a good place to hang out.
