Giving the beers at Franklin's more chances because of the replacement of the brewer. This beer served on draft. It is straw yellow and completely hazy. Forms a thin white head of small bubbles that leaves some lacing on the glass. Carbonation is moderate to low. Looks good.

The aroma is bananas and some breadiness, its pretty good. A little subtle in the nose.

Beer is medium to light in body. Mild graininess to the whole thing. Overall its a nice, mildly sweet, wet hefeweizen. Much better than the last time I had this beer. The ester character is a little low but it is still a good hefe. I drink a lot of hefes and this one is a good example. Not great but definitely above average.

Poured on tap at the restaurant into a shaker pint. Served with an attached lemon.

A very nice creamy off white classic Hefe head is presented, sitting on a great yellow orb lemon body cloudy in appearance. There are some classic gray hues, and the drink leaves spotty lacing while drinking.

With the lemon having being served on the edge it was hard to get the exact profile. Dense lemon scent, but not much else going on, such as malt or clove dark spicy-ness.

Taste though is quite nice, dense wheat and lemon profile, with banana. Spices does not come out of a typical Hefe but we have a good solid texture and classic feel.

Overall a solid offering hefeweizen.

God knows I've had bad hefeweizens in my life, and I can say in no uncertain terms that this isn't one of them. There's been a change of brewers since the last review, so that might explain something. Listed at 4.8%

Pouring a smoothly hazy yellow orange with a dense white head with good retention and lacing, this is a good looking hefeweizen. The nose is solid. It hits pretty much all the characteristics I want for the style, and with great balance too. There's banana, cloves, fresh wheat and a touch of citrus with no real hop character, all very well balanced. Strangely, though, there's a touch of sulfur as well, a characteristic that isn't particularly discernible on the palate. With a blend of banana, clove, a little citrus, this beer is refreshing, and the wheat backbone makes for an enjoyable beer. A touch bready, this beer finishes dry with a blend of banana and clove. Just a touch watery, this beer is amply carbonated, making for an enjoyable summer beer. Apart from some minor flaws, this beer is excellent.

Pours a pale, yellow color with a bit of hazy. Thin white head disappears very quick. Some light banana and clove aroma. Slightly tart and sour, with just hints of the banana and spicyness that is the norm for the style. Light body, and could have used a bit more carbonation to be refreshing and spritzy. Thin, and not enough character for me.
