A: Clear, darker magenta bordering on purple.

S: Strong blackcurrant tartness with a slight astringency and an undertone of fruity sweetness.

T/M: At first taste it's a bit strange, with enough tartness to make the mouth pucker and an off-putting astringency. However, with a couple of sips some blackcurrant and pomegranate-like sweetness shine through, followed by slightly astringent hops. Mouthfeel is pretty light, almost like lightly-carbonated under-sweetened blackcurrant juice.

D: Relatively drinkable after a couple of sips, but I think Blackcurrant Lambics are more my pace.

New beer at Franklin's, ale made with currants...get it? Beer is clear and bright pink with a pink head of medium bubbles that doesn't leave any lacing on the glass. Looks like carbonated cranberry juice.

Aroma is sweet and tart with some fruit notes in there and some graininess to it too. Smells OK.

Beer is sweet and tart, like the aroma with a grainy aftertaste. Its pretty good, medium to light in body and the aftertaste isn't distracting, oddly it adds to the beer as a whole. Its pretty light, would make a good appertif methinks. I like that Franklin's is experimenting more.
