Got it on tap at Lager's.
Served a very cloudy pinkish red with a small white head. I can see seeds and strawberry sediment dropping to the bottom.
Smell. A strong strawberry aroma that is really the only smell. Smells a little like a strawberry jelly, like in a donut.
Taste. Strawberries, again are dominant to being the only thing I taste. Is sweet, like it is made from concentrate. I also get a strong creaminess to it that really reminds me of a yogurt flavor.
Mouthfeel. Body is on the lighter side of medium, carbonation is ok. it is a little refreshing, but also filling with the creaminess at the same time.
Overall, an interesting beer, but not one I will get again. I do not care for the yogurt/cream cheese flavor that I get. Perhaps they should have changed the name to strawberry cheesecake ale...at least it would make it more interesting. but when it comes to strawberry beers, i'll stick with abita.

I had this beer on-tap at Luke in New Orleans. It was served in a stange. It pours a light golden with a hint of orange. There is a thin, white head. The smell is very strong of artificial strawberry, a little like strawberry ice cream. The flavor is like the smell--artificial strawberry. Mouthfeel is somewhat acidic, carbonated. This is not that drinkable because the strawberry flavor is overpowering as it is so artificial.

I got this beer on tap at Lagers. It came to me a very cloudy golden pink color with no head. Lacing was present throughout the entire beer. I could see chunks of strawberry and what looked like strawberry seeds. The aroma was of strawberrys and not much else. The taste was strawberry as well. Not much too it really. Tasted like an average ale with strawberry puree added. It wasn't bad though. The mouthfeel was VERY thick and creamy. Overall it wasn't a bad beer but didn't compete at all with Abita Strawberry. Not even close.

The beer looked a bit murky, it had lots of residue. The smell was a bit of wheat with a hint of berries. The taste at first was good and after I finished half of it, I had to stop drinking, it just reminded me too much of coughs sirup. I will not drink this one again and I was pretty skeptical about tasting this fruit beer and I was right.

Heiner Brau - Strawberry Ale @ Lüke, 3/20/09 - lunch - draft>taster glass
@ Lüke - freshly tapped new keg
A 3.0 - light pale in color with a hint of pink, noticeable carbonation, okay head, gone quick.
S 5.0 - Smell was AMAZING! Bold smell of fresh strawberry without being overly done.
T 4.0 - Almost a light pilsner/lager type taste with a dance of mild fresh strawberry sneaks in. It has more strawberry smell than taste.
MF 4.0 - light body, high carbonation.
D 4.0 - Great find for a local Nawlins brew, if you like a light fruity brew - this is for you!
The aroma on this brew was the standout. I had it at Lüke bar/restaurant in NOLA. The bartender knew his beers well, and informed me that this is a local brew and it uses fresh strawberries. The first pours from this keg always gives a fresh pink puree - he always has to clear it out when he taps a new keg. They have a cool little bar, good food, and their own custom brews. Check then out on the web. I added them beeradvocate on 3/25/09.
Full-service bar featuring an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, plus three exclusive house brews--custom-brewed locally: Lüke Fru (a very young beer, perfectly suited for the raw bar,) Lüke Export (a golden pilsner with a nose of Austrian hops,) and Lüke Alt (an aged pilsner in the Düsseldorf style, best for the menu's meatiest dishes).

A - This beer poured red (very red) with lots of sediment (pulp and seeds) in the center that produced a fluffy pink head (with seeds mixed in) that had little retention or lacing
S - I got no beer aromas on this one, only strawberries, which I like but not so overpowering
T - Again, the taste of this beer had no qualities of a beer, tasted like strawberry smoothies, I like strawberries, but this had no qualities of a beer
S - The mouthfeel of this beer had a medium body, lots of sediment, and a moderate amount of carbonation
D - If I want to mask a beer in strawberry flavors, this is the beer I would make. To be fair, the batch are known to vary, but this batch was not a good beer.

Had a 2 oz pour at top of the hops, Jackson. This beer was a hit at the Heiner Brau nooth. No offence to Abita but this strawberry ale kicks their tail hard.
The beer was not easy or consistant one to tap, we went through 10 gallons and the color varied a lot with every pitcher. The brewery rep explained it was due to the puree ( fresh not artificial) being in the kegs, if they are not stored upside down the first pours are like strawberry daqueri.
smelled great, like Frankenberry cereal, quite frankly, thats what it tasted like too. Creamy, almost with marshmallow like flavor.
This beer is a must try for fruitbeer haters imo. I wouldn't drink more then 1 at a time of this though, seems like it would get old fast.

Found this on tap at LUKE in New Orleans. This is a limited spring release available on tap only at select locations in the NOLA area. Heiner also contract brews exclusive beers for LUKE.
A: Cloudy light orange with pinkish hues. Thin white head. Impressive retention and lacing. Small chunks of something (presumeably strawberry?)float in the beer.
S: Smells of fresh strawberries. Not much else.
T: The stawberry flavor is too strong. The taste seems to be artificial and syrupy.
M: Syrupy, but with very crisp carbonation.
D: Too sweet for me to have more than one. And that will most likely be my last one.
