On-tap at Pizzeria Paradiso, Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C. - March 2012:

The beer appeared a bright orange color that produced a nice foamy white (I think, it was kind of dark in the restaurant) that had decent retention. The beer gave off a stronger hop aroma than the taste led on and the taste of the beer was obviously less hoppy than expected, but as another reviewer noted, this is probably more in line with an English IPA, it had a nice malt and hop balance, which was pleasant. The beer was smooth and easy to drink that had a nice amount of carbonation to it. Overall, a nice beer.

At the Pratt Street Ale House in a tumbler.

A: Finally, an all-American beer from Mr. Jones! The IPA is an amber color, golden and ferrous. A bit hazy but nothing to get too fired up about. A white head comes along, lacing nicely in my glass.

S: Fresh citrus, the nose doesn't skimp on biting C hops. An equally strong caramel malt base provides more balance than an IPA should have. A minor plaint, I know. Onward...

T: Mmm, the fresh bite of hops. After the sweet porter (SOB), the bitterness is a welcome diversion. Citrus, primarily orange, comes through, strong but balanced against the caramel side. The malts through up a great deal of resistance, never letting the ale get too bold. Bready and hoppy, bready and hoppy. Repeat as needed.

M: A good IPA, long on hops and breadiness. A good beer to pair with a couple of sliders before the game.

On tap at the Pratt Street Alehouse. Poured into standard pint.
Clear amber with very foamy - big bubble head. Looks cheap...
Smells of hops and little malt; nothing amazing.
Taste is ok for an IPA. Bland would describe it pretty well...
There is much to be desired here.
The alcohol is barely noticeable at 7%
I only stoped in for this beer and wouldnt buy again. Its their only IPA, so mabe its not their specialty.
Of note, they had beer on cask, but they poured into snifters?! What's up with that!? I was going to get a cask ale, but opted out when I saw that...seems stingy more than "appropriate" in terms of glassware.
PS..I later had a coffee cask...it was good.

On cask at Churchkey. Served in a pint glass.

Pours an orange-copper color with a thick, foamy white head and great retention. Lots of lacing as it goes down. The nose consists mostly of orange and citrus hops with a bit of a floral character in the background. Makes sense since this version was dry-hopped with Cascade. Flavor is orange and citrus as well. Light bread in the background. Light body with good cask carbonation and a dry, bitter finish. Recommended.

On cask at Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown, Washington, DC.

Body is clear amber/copper with sudsy head and pancake bubbles, leaves some lacing.

Aroma is bready malt and floral and citrus hops with a trace of maple sugar.

Tastes of bready malt with slight bitterness and orange/grapefruit hops. Has a nice fresh hop zing.

Body is light, as is the carbonation. It has a smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel.

A pretty tasty IPA with a distinctive style. This version was hopped with Zeus.
