I was a little skeptical of trying this one at first as one, I'm not really into (most) stouts and two, my experices with French beer is forever tarnished by Fischer beer (wow that shit sucks), granted these are not valid reasons.
Anywho, instead of doing a typical paced review where I would go by appearance, aroma etc in order, I snuck a quick sip in after I poured it.
Goddamit was I suprised. The taste is like a kick in the face, in a good way. Delicious coffee malts and beans up front turning over into a chocolate aftertaste. A little grassy in the middle, could be the hops. A little bit of alcohol warmth on the breath.
Yeah the aftertaste is almost like an espresso flavored ice cream.
This beer is a treat. Looks beautiful and pours nicely. Would be a great beer to have ice cream with I think.
