Served in a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black as motor oil but not as thick, some imperial stouts just pour thicker this one in particular comes off thin and so does the tan head is produces, maybe 1/4" off the body settling to nada before the first sip.
Smell: Robust hit of coffee with a nutmeg type of infusio to go with it. Its a tad light but honestly you can't stop sniffing it.
Taste: Complex and sweet, the feeling of espresso with pieces of super dark bitter chocolate. Honestly it gets better and better you go down further into the glass, borderline perfect.
Mouth: You know maybe after the third sip you realize that this brew comes off a notch dry, like coffee. One thing i have to give props to is the stickiness to it, like gum under your shoe.
Overall: I have passed this up o the shelf many times at one of my local beer spots and absolutely will not ever do it again. It isn't my favorite imperial stout but definitely hits the top five.Chuck the money and buy a bottle....Salud!
