Got this at South Bay Drugs...my first time in there this past weekend.
12 oz bottle poured into my snifter glass. There are notches at 2 and 4, so I'm guessing this is batch 24. No idea when it was bottled.
A - Black with about a half finger width of mocha colored head. Some nice lacing is left on glass.
S - Lots of roast mixed with coffee, maybe some espresso, and bitter chocolate. I may get a slight whiff of oak too. The coffee smell seems to be the dominant thing going on here.
T - There are nice roasty malts that mix with coffee pretty nicely. Compared to something like Speedway Stout, it seems a bit one dimensional to me, but for what it is, it's pretty good.
M - Maybe a slightly more than medium body with kind of a high to medium carbonation...my tongue is left prickly. I'm not a big fan of my stouts having that much carbonation, and I like them, especially imperial stouts, to be thicker.
D - I am definitely enjoying it. It's a good/solid stout, but not upper echelon, in my humble opinion. I wouldn't turn it down, but I wouldn't seek it out either.
