Poured from 11.2 oz bottle into a New Belgium Snifter
Appearance: Pours a smooth, jet black featuring a slight khaki, uneven head.
Smell: Very malty and great, bitter roasted coffee aroma
Taste: tastes of ice coffee the colder it is, as it warms to room temp it features some smokiness, indicative of a well roasted coffee bean, ever so slight hoppiness, doesn't taste overly alcoholic
Mouthfeel: very smooth and full bodied, very slight carbonation, very pleasant
Drinkability: very drinkable and different than most imperial stouts, focused more on coffee flavor more than chocolately undertones which was appreciated, delicious and smooth beer
I'd recommend picking up a bottle or two of the Peche Mortel. Everywhere I've seen it it's been priced at 5.99 per bottle.
