from notes taken on vacation in montreal 5.16.2010.
served in a tulip glass. color is an opaque dark brown with a thick, creamy, light brown head that lasts till the beer is gone. leaves some nice sticky, webby lace all down the sides of the glass.
smell is coffee, milk chocolate, some hops and a little fruit.
taste is absolutely amazing; following the nose with roasted, coffee and chocolate malts. has a nice sweetness to it without being cloying. a pleasing, slightly puckery hop bitterness and a long, bittersweet finish make this very well balanced. alcohol content is extremely well hidden.
full bodied but incredibly smooth and creamy.
dangerously drinkable considering that it's almost 10%! this is fantastic beer - rich, decadent and certainly worth seeking out.
Serving type: nitro-tap
