A: Gets a 5 from me because I love it when a huge stout has great head and head retention. noce and black with a fluffy two finger oatmeal colored head that slowy fades down to 1 finger.
S: Lots of coffee, gorounds infact, with some milky sweetness. Roasted malt with some vanilla. Slightest amount of cherry, but not as pungent overall as I expected.
T: Well it's super smooth, as an oatmeal stout should be. Great mouthfeel, though a tad bit heavier would have been perfect.Coffee and dark chocolate dominates the flavor giving way to vanilla, some oakiness comes in and overtakes the flavor, moving in to a smokey flavor. Hops push through in the end delivering some spice, and the long finish is all hop biterness and some slight alochol sting at the very end. I was surpised by the amount of hops coming through at the end, but this is pretty fresh, and probably mellows over time.
Ovr: This is an extremly good beer. I found myself comparing this to Devil Over a Barrell becuase I had it recently. This beer has mucuh more of a hop spice to me, and is a bit fuller tasting, though Devil is technically a porter. Overall fantastic.
