Poured into snifter like used motor oil and producing no head but a nice little swiel. Oily liquid leaves a nice film on the glass & sets up a nice, tan polka dot effect.
French-espresso roast coffee beans dominate the nose as well as nutty cream, oak, and a distinct boozy perfume; like a juniper dipped in alcohol. Notes of vanilla bean, brown sugar & hops.
Smooth cappuccino, roasted grain, caramel and vanilla wood up front. Baker's chocolate, honeycomb, hop, and booze round everything out. Considering the high ABV, balanced extremely well. Initial velvet mouthfeel is left bone dry from a slap of hops and bitter cocoa. The throat smiles with a boozy warmth.
A great representation of the style combined with an impressive aroma. I wonder if I am going to get a caffeine buzz. Highly recommended.
