11.2oz bottle (labeled as 'Aphrodite') from Bittercreek Alehouse, Boise ID, poured into a New Belgium Globe.
A: Dark, semi-viscous pour, opaque, two finger light brown head, nice head lacing on the glass.
S: Epic amounts of chocolate and cocoa and cacao nibs...vanilla sweetness, roast character, light coffee, dark malts, bittersweet, and a touch earthy.
T: A bit bitter, lots of dark chocolate bittersweet notes, cocoa shavings, fairly roasty...hint of hops, dry bitter coffee finish, for a 6.5% beer there is a lot of dark malt here.
Caramel sweetness emerges as it warms, both on the nose and palette.
MF: Feels medium and finishes dry...a touch slick and wet on the palette.
O: A great drinker with sweet and roasty notes, great chocolate presence with subtle but identifiable vanilla as well. Recommended.

A-Pours nearly black.
S-Dark chocolate and sweet vanilla. Impressive vanilla actually. Roast and java. Bitter cocoa powder.
T-Bitter and sweet chocolate. Makes me think of milk and dark chocolate. Vanilla bean. Vanilla a bit softer here. Medium coffee notes. Finishes sweetly roasty.
M-Medium bodied. Velvety feel. Softer bubbles.
O-I enjoyed this one a bunch and the sample has prompted me to grab a bottle in the near future.

11.5-ounce bottle poured into a stout glass.
Appearance: Pours a near-black with a short tan head. Lacing minimal.
Aroma: This beer has an attractive set of aromas with black coffee, dark fruit, cocoa, vanilla, coffee beans and dark chocolate all represented.
Taste: This is a tasty, complex beer - the taste is close to the nose, with roasty black coffee accented by cocoa and vanilla the dominant theme.
Mouthfeel: It's also not as thick and sludgy as I had guessed. It's very drinkable.
Overall: A beer to seek out. The complex flavor makes this a unique stout - it's full of flavor, and very distinct. A great beer to dip, savor, and enjoy.
