Dieu de Ciel Nativité Blonde….on tap at the brewpub in Montreal
Appearance-comes out with a straw blonde color, rich three fingered head appears and disappears quickly leaving a last waft of bubbles.
Smell-strong yeasty wheat esters mixed with grain and a light but pungent note of fruit.
Taste/Mouthfeel-light body, flavors come together fairly well. Usual wheat players of tangy fruit and yeast, nice smoothness and progression, finishes with a last note of breaded yeast.
Overall-solid wheat beer, fits the style well and is another solid entry for this beer maker.

I made a trip down to the brewpub while in Montreal after calling to find that both of DDC's BA Canadian Top 25 beers which are not available in bottle (the only two on that entire list) were on tap that day. I wasn't sure if my girlfriend would enjoy either of those two and tried to get her something lighter. I wouldn't usually order the hefeweizen at DDC given all the other exciting choices...of course it ended up being the winner of the three.
This Naitivite Blonde was listed at 6.5% ABV, so maybe the recipe has changed since the last reviews. Perfect hefe look: hazy glowing gold in colour with a cover of airy, white head. Lots of lacing. Beautiful.
Lots of wheat, yeast, astringency, honey , banana and spice. Big, great smell.
This is one of the best hefes I've had. Full wheat taste, yeast, higher than average hop bitterness, subtle coriander. Lingering wheat aftertaste with earthy hops. No alcohol showing. Tastes like a regular hefeweizen with the wheat and hops accentuated. Very nice.
Quite carbonated with a thick medium body.
If this were to be bottled, I think people would go crazy for it. Just as good as any hefe out there. They had a dunkeleizen version of this there at the same time, which the waitress told me used the same base brew. I would have loved to have tried it but needed to drive home...

A: Cloudy straw, white head, very little retention, some lace.
S: Pineapple, banana & spice (cloves?).
T: Pineapple acidity dominates throughout, slight spicyness, banana in the finish.
M: Light to moderate body, very acidic for a weizen; moderate carbonation, very dry finish. Not silky or smooth, and a little strange for a wiezen.
D: Summer thirst quencher.

Strange that they should put out a keg of this stuff in December, it's clearly a summer brew. But the ways of Dieu du Ciel are mysterious and who am I to question them?
Appearance: Very opaque, pale yellow, with a small ring of lace around the glass.
Smell: As expected from a Hefe, yeasty and banana esters
Taste: Slight citrus start, very refreshing, quite wheaty, with a good dose of banana in the aftertaste. Mid carbonation, goes down well, hopefully they'll whip up another batch in July!
