A-cloudy orange brown with a foamy head that disappears and leaves some foam clinging to the side of the glass

S-spicy hops, yeast, sweet, and citrus

T-dry hops, citrus, moderate carbonation, the hops seem to mellow the more I taste it

M-very dry mouthfeel, slightly bitter, moderate carbonation leaves your tongue tingly

Very refreshing, would be a good summer time beer, my only complaint is that I wish it was a little sweeter

12oz bottle in Sam Adams glass
bottled on 3/14 purchased at La Duchesse in Quebec City

A: Very hazy light gold color with a creamy white head, lots of lacing.
S: Obvious Belgian yeast, not much else
T: The Belgian is here, but I am not sure about the IPA, there are obviously hops here, a nice bitterness, but not as much flavor/aroma hops as I would prefer. The malts are awesome, makes me think of a nice pils base with a little bit of light caramel malt. The yeast has produced a lot of spiciness, very Belgian.
M: Very prickly carbonation, crisp, a little on the dry side
O: A very good beer, but I would like more late addition hops, very easy to drink, I could easily reach for a second one. Definitely worth trying, would buy again at the right price.

11.5 oz bottle was poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy pale yellow with some vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Tropical, grassy, vanilla, floral, tangerine, grapefruit, apple, bready malts, and spiciness.

Taste: A nice blend of aromas. Some mild tingly bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, tasty, medium bodied, tingly bitterness, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: This beer definitely got better as it warmed up. I feel a road trip to Chambly coming up in the near future.

A: Honey yellow with a great sandstorm of swirling yeasts and hazy all round, a little carbonation, 3 fingers of slightly yellow head rising like ice cream and later leaving a nice lace.

S: Floral and fruity, citrus like grapefruit, and floral like perfume, yeasty like a Belgian reminiscent of Duvel, light musty quality, lemony and lemon zest as well. Complex and compelling.

T: Totally follows the nose with a light sweetness leaving it not as dry as expected. I get the grapefruit, perfume, musty Belgian quality, lemon and lemon zest bitterness, light bitterness near the end.

M: Medium lightly syrupy body, medium low carbonation.

O: Excellent beer. Would like it a few shades cooler as I had it at room temperature. Complex and unique, more floral than others in this style I remember and slightly sweeter.

Murky orange with a head that fades quickly to a thin film. Considerable yeast in the glass.

Main smell is a complex yeasty note with a bit of citrus.

Yeast, pineapple, pear, and a slight boozy note.

Mouthfeel smooth, tingling carbonated finish.

This was just fine, but didn't really stand out in the style.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Head dissipates quickly leaving very minimal lacing.

Very yeasty up front almost overwhelming. There may be hints of malt but they are hard to make out.

Tastes predominately how it smells. Lots of yeast with some herbs very bitter in the finish, the hops really stand out.

Big on hops and yeast with well hidden alcohol. Fairly well carbonated with a dry bitter finish.

A bit too hoppy for my taste and definitely packs a punch of yeast to all senses.

A: A hazy orange color topped with about a finger of clean white head. Lacing is great as well as retention.

S: A little bit of citrus and some belgian/ bready yeast notes.

T: Not as bitter as I thought it would be, being an IPA and all. It highlights both characteristics of a stronger belgian and IPA. It doesn't do either to one extreme though. By that I mean its a pretty mild blend of both styles. You get a bit of citrusy grape fruit and some slightly pepper phenols. Some pale fruit maybe along the lines of pear are also there but minimal. There really isn't that much depth to the beer IMO.

M: Easy drinking and even somewhat creamy. Perfect carbonation for a belgian in my opinion. Heavy carbonation but not prickly and stingy as some thinner bodied examples can be.

O:It as a good beer overall. It was pretty solid but it wasn't really as outstanding as some of DDC's other beers are.

Single bottle snagged from a craft beer "pick 6" wall poured into a goblet. This one is a cloudy golden amber hue with a billowing white head, the latter settling out to leave some intricate lacing on the glass. Aroma is assertive Belgian yeast, spicy yet fruity, with some papaya, mango, and pineapple apparent along with hints of dried banana chip and tobacco. I am getting a lot of musky pineapple on the nose. Palate is a unique, multifaceted hodgepodge of fruit, spice, sour green, bread, and candy flavors. Spicy phenols (clove and faint band-aid) coexist with strawberry fruit chews, rhubarb, candy cigarettes, melon rind, astronaut ice cream, grapefruit, and unripe pear. Initially everything flits about, with nothing obviously out of place despite the mishmash. Things do eventually sort themselves out to a degree, with the strawberry creme and pineapple remaining most salient to me. Moderate of body and carbonation, with a green sour fruit and doughy yeast finish. Not parching and boozy like many tripels and notably hoppy, albeit not in a resinous or piney fashion (think green banana and pineapple skin). Wonderful brew really, so much going on yet not unbalanced or harsh. One of my favorite Belgian IPAs to date.

Purchased at the LCBO 4pk for around $12.00. Served at 10deg C in a tulip glass.

A- Very good. Opens and pours a nice head that dissipates to a film in 2mins. Dark golden almost amber color.

S- Very good. Super yeasty. Smells like Bard's a bit.

T- Very good. Enjoyable malty goodness. Bottle fermented. Super nice little beer.

M- Excellent. Enjoyable to say the very least. Creamy and thick

O- Very good. Would score higher if the price was not so high. Something to put into the cellar for later.

Food Pairing

This nice little IPA bottle fermented beer goes well with... chili

Poured from the 12 oz glass into a tulip.
Pours a light and hazy blonde straw color with minimal head.
Smells of belgian yeast, a touch of sweetness, touch of malt.
Tastes primarily of belgian twang with a good deal of hop bitterness on the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is inviting.
Overall, a very nice and tasty begian/IPA mix.
