A: Really raspberry red, even a pink head to boot. Retention is somewhat minimal but lacing isn't bad. High carbonation is visible.

S: REAL raspberries. nothing artificial smelling here. Deliciously tart smelling.

T: Raspberries and more raspberries. Tart even bordering on pretty sour. Good beer base that highlights the fruit. Not overdone and it doesn't taste like a wine cooler as some poorer fruit beers do. No artificial tasting either which is a departure from most of the sub par fruit beers I've had. Hops are minimal as are bitterness letting the fruit really shine and take on it's true fold, unmuddled.

M: Nice carbonation leaning towards the higher side. Moderate to thin body.

O: This is a fruit beer i can get along with. Not that overly chemically, artificial mess that fruit beers usually end up as. Recommend to someone who believes fruit beers are a boring style as i once did.

Pours garnet/ruby with a very quickly fading head.
Nose shows massive raspberry with soft confectionery notes. Lovely stuff despite being so focussed on the one aspect.
Amazing flavours, heaps of tart raspberry with a great acidic hit. Some gooseberry notes too and a port note.
Nice moderately high carbonation.

Bottle Date 05/2013

A - pours a bright amber/rose pink color with a finger of somewhat intense pink head. Retention and lacing are relatively decent.

S - Tons of raspberry/tart fruit as you would expect from a framboise.

T - Quite sour! Vinegar, ripe/tart raspberries. Definitely an intensely sour Berliner with some wheaty thickness. When allowing to sit on my palate the vinegar becomes quite intense and pushes the limits a little bit (for the style) but in a very good way. Finish is very tart/sour.

M - Medium bodied+, especially for the style, quite sticky on the tongue, good carbonation but the mouth feel holds strong. Again really liking everything about this beer in a major way

O - Would love to have a few more of these! Really awesome lambic style berliner

Bottle from hoppypocket for CanBIF Fall 2013. Bottled 05/2013.

A - Reddish/pink colour. Bright with intense carbonation that fades to slow later. One finger white head gone fast. For the style, the appearance is OK, just not all that great in general.

S - Raspberries, raspberry juice, sugar, some tartness.

T - Raspberry, some tartness. Lot's of raspberry stuff going on. Tartness is definitely there but it doesn't get too complex. Quite nice though, and fairly tart.

M - Tart raspberry finish. Fairly strong carbonation, medium body.

O/D - Guess what? This is a sour wheat beer brewed with raspberries. Just like the bottle says! This was pretty decent. Can't say it was worthy of the hype and my expectations, but not too shabby at all and seemingly well put together. One and done for me though.
