Sample on tap at What’s Brewing BF, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. Pretty impressive foreign extra stout, coffee notes, quite dry, some sharp burnt notes in the finish keep me from giving it a higher score.

On draft at the DDC pub in Montreal.
A: Pours a solid dark black in colour with 3 finders of foamy bone white head. Moderate amount of lacing and solid retention.
S: Roasted malts together with cocoa and espresso. Slight sweet notes of brown sugar.
T: Chocolate notes upfront which are more sweet than the smell along with coffee. Overall taste is towards the sweet profile versus bitter or acrid.
M: Creamy with moderate carbonation.
O: Less complex than some of their other offerings but easy drinking and would definitely like to have another.

Poured a full 10oz. into a snifter at Churchkey DC.
A real nice light cocoa head presented, mocha brown colored and creamy looking with lots of staying power and laces like crazy while drinking. The body is classic dark walnut black, but there's a nice red edged hue to this particularly around the collar.
Bouquet is very light and creamy. Dark chocolate if a little ashy smelling and powdery. Faint brown bread toasty qualities. Simple but very good.
Palate brings a very dry dark cocoa bitterness, with a great dark roasty character. Nice mild soft hop action, with a slight faint lime citrus character to match. THere's a real nice pop and snap on the finish, almost crackling with the hop action. Hints at black IPA but more mellow as the roast lingers on with a solid and coating mouthfeel.
Overall a real nice Foreign Export Stout, always happy to see this style done real well and this hit the right buttons.

5oz sample at the DDC tap takeover 24/11/12 from notes
A nearly black with a thin cola edge, just a thin film but it's a small glass after all but it still leaves some random lace
S a little sour plum with some coco powder and faint licorice
T the hops come out in the mouth with a hint of citrus, a little coffee and a faint nutty aspect works well for it
M medium bodied with a slight creamy feel, mix of roast and hops on the finish linger for a while
O straight up good stout, nice balance of dark roast and hops and the booze is well hidden
I'd never heard of this one and I rather liked it, I doubt its the brew I'll be buying buy the pint with all these DDC offerings but its very nice and I'd happily drink it again

On cask during Cask Days 2012.
Beer is black with some bubbles, but otherwise no head.
Dark fruit in the nose, as well as chocolate. Nice smell.
Smooth flavour. Roasted malt, a moderately bitter finish. Some coffee. Dark fruit: prune, raisin.
Medium bodied, low carbonation. Smooth.
Overall, somewhat simple in flavour, but in a nice way. A good beer. Would like to have this again.
