I have been waiting to get up to Montreal to visit this place. My buddy's bachelor party gave me a real good excuse. It did not disappoint.
Every beer I tried was real real good. I sat at the bar for an hour or two just tasting and talking to the bartender. He was very friendly was willing to give me all sorts of small pours to try as much as possible. They had 16 different beers on tap.
You could tell that there was a purpose with every beer. The RIS was the best true RIS I have ever had. Little coffee or chocolate notes. So damm smooth. The smoked porter would give the Alaskan Smoked porter a run for its money. Oh so smokey. The vanilla coffee stout was like a vanilla chocolate milk. The cream ale was was a revelation.
They didn't have the Peche Mortel on tap... but I din't mind. everything else was so damm good. Also the bartender told us exactly where to go to get bottles of their stuff so I ended up having a couple later and even brought a sixer back.
The only bad thing I had to say about this place was the food. Very limited menu and my nachos were quite bland. That being said I didn't come here for the food.
This is by far the best brewpub i have ever been to. Any beer lover that steps foot in Montreal has to make it overthere. You will not be disappointed!

The beer is incredible (focus on the dark beers and specials). The staff is also pretty entertaining, a bunch of attractive francophone chattering with each other. Can't comment on the food, but the beer is great. Probably about awesome place to take a girl or business important person.

Absolutely awesome. I went on a Tuesday and the place was packed. The atmosphere was really nice and jovial. The people are an eclectic mix, young and old, male and female. I had a nice mix of their hop attempts, nothing to rave about, but all solid beers. I also had a hibiscus beer, that was neon pink...I am comfortable with my masculinity so the color didn't turn me off...try it!
