Good starting head but it settles quickly. Leaves some streaky lines of lace. Dark, dark brown where light shines through only the very edges of the glass.

Rich smell of chocolate, biscuit, burnt toast and mocha.

Beyond the typical burnt grain flavors is a strong berry flavor--perhaps strawberry. The swallow shows a lot of alcohol which lingers through the aftertaste. The bitterness comes from the Black Patent malt presence.

Ahhh a baltic porter...reminising of my lost Okocim. This one tapped out very dark but had red highlights when held to the light...moch head. Sweet aromas of choclate, spices some geass. Tase profile was glorious...sweet, raisins, licorice, roasty malts..long wet finish...a very decent Baltic but I founf the mouth feel a tad wanting..it was a bit thin for this style.

Enjoyed at the brewpub.
Black with a tan cap that faded to a collar. A bit of sticky lacing. The aroma was primarily grainy, with some caramel and grassy hops, a hint of chocolate. Moderate bitterness with toffee and cocoa throughout, leafy hops, slight spiciness. Medium to full bodied with mellow carbonation, nice texture with just a bit of astringency. Pretty good overall.

Kozak - Cosaque? Who knows? Who cares, because this is another bloody good beer from one of the best brewpubs I have ever come across. Deep ruby body with a bubbly tan coloured head, which laces extravagantly. The aroma suprises me with blueberry and blackberry, as well as a hot spiciness. The flavour is intensely complex and warming. The lighter summer fruit are present, but only in the background, as rich fruity malts take the center stage with alcohol soaked date and rasins jiving with a spicy caramel body. The body is medium and warming. Holy shit, this is good. My new favourite at this brewery.
