Served on tap at Sin City Brewing (Venetian) in Las Vegas, NV

A: Pours a crystal clear dark ruby red in color with some light visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall foamy off-white head that reduces to a thick ring at the edges of the glass with a thin film over the majority of the surface and a thicker patch towards the center. Significant lacing is observed.

S: The smell is dominated by the toffee sweetness of the toasted malts. There is a light earthy hop presence as well.

T: Like the smell, the taste is dominated by the rich toffee and caramel malt sweetness with just a hint of earthy hops present.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: An enjoyable beer that was very easy to drink. This beer is quite sessionable and I would certainly get it again if I was at Sin City Brewing in Las Vegas. There is enough complexity to the flavor and smell to make this one enjoyable.

Had on tap at BLT burger in Vegas at the Mirage.

A - Pours amber to red with a thin creme color foam. Some carbonation, and slight lacing.

S - Scents of caramel, toffee, and fresh malt are present. This is clearly a Marzen.

T - Smells carried over to the taste. Has all the flavors of a traditional Marzen. Caramel flavor, and malt with some fine grains.

M - Very enjoyable. Smooth, light bodied, and a perfect beer to hang out at the bar drinking. Was pleasantly surprised that this was so enjoyable.

Enjoyed at Burger Bar in Las Vegas.
Crystal clear with a reddish hue and an off-white collar of fine bubbles. Slight lacing. Malty aroma with some grain husk and light toastiness. Mild to moderate bitterness with a fair bit of sweetness, light caramel character. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation, smooth with a decent texture. Pretty easy drinking, but nothing that really stood out.

Las Vegas NV. is not only a desert in the literal sense; but it is also a desolate tract when it comes to craft beers. Sin City was about the best I could get; without traveling miles from the strip.
I tried most of their beers, and they were pretty much all the same; not that they were a poor quality, but they were all blasé .
Decent quality; but nothing special

On tap at The Pub at the Monte Carlo.

Typical amber appearance, clear and obviously filtered, small head.

Not much aroma at all, just some faint Munich malts it seems.

The flavor is a little better... the malt comes through more and the hops show their face. Not bad.

Easy to drink refreshing amber... an alright beer and worth trying to experience the local beers.

Poured on-tap at the Sin City bar in the Venetian in Vegas. The beer was a very deep copper-red color, with a nice foamy 2" head. Aromas of sour mash and malt. The flavor was malty and crisp, and the finish reminded me more of a lager than an amber. The beer was light and smooth in the mouth, and very pleasant to drink.

On tap at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas.

Appearance: Glorious deep red amber, clear, with bright head that managed to leave lacing on the plastic glass it was served in.

Aroma: Powerful, rich malty sweetness with a touch of hops. Perfect for the style.

Taste: As in the aroma. Lots of rich malty sweetness balanced with a touch of hops. Perhaps just a little more intensity might really lift the flavour out more, but it was very tasty. The plastic glass may have muted it a little.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, carbonated, medium. Perfect for the style.

Drinkability: This is very tasty from a plastic glass, probably even better from a real one. Would have this again.

On-Tap @ The Burger Bar in Vegas.

First beer from Nevada. Not sure what the turnover on this beer is since most people were drinking the standard domestics. The beer was well presented with about a finger head. The flavor was very bread-like, common for the style, with a little bit of sweetness and only a touch of hop flavors. Rather drinkable.

A nice deep amber color with a light tan head. Head is pretty thick and tight, fading slowly but lacing is not evident in this clear plastic cup.

Malty sweet aroma, subtle yet pleasant. It is inviting for sure. Taste is some nice caramel malt, sweet with a touch of hops in the middle and a very nice clean finish. There is a subtle spiciness here as well, orange zest or something.

Fairly light bodied, not thin but not substantial in the mouth. It's a nice drinker though and I followed the first with another to accompany me back out onto the strip.

Like the story of this brewer and I love the location of their pub in the Flamingo!

A - A pure copper color with one fingers worth of light tan head which quickly fizzes away... Loads of big bubbled, medium paced carbonation rises throughout...

S - A fairly mundane aroma... Only very minor gain, malt, caramel, and nut scents were noted.

T - Loads of malty goodness... Robust caramel flavor... Biscuit... Orange zest... A vague nuttiness... A small hint of hoppiness

M - Medium bodied with loads of prickly carbonation... Clean and crisp... Fairly smooth... Quite refreshing...

D - Quite drinkable and refreshing... Far from the top tier, or even second tier for the style, but a respectable interpretation of the style and quite enjoyable all the way around...

A: Pours a copper body with a large off-white head with great retention and some lacing.

S: Strong caramel maltiness with some hop and earth characters.

T: Same as the smell, nothing big or amazing just strong caramel notes. I didn't find it to be that strong of a representation of the style.

Overall: Mouthfeel was well carbonated but could have used a bit of a bump. Very drinkable, low alcohol and mellow flavor.

Had this at the airport while waiting for my layover flight.

A: An amber color, slightly darker amber, with a decent white foam head.

S: A faint hint of caramel malts. the faint smell is rather sweet. Not much happening here.

T: A malty sweet taste, mostly caramel, citrus?, and some bready. Better tasting than the smell.

M: A decent medium body beer. Does not leave much on the palate, sort of a dry sweet taste.

D: Not my most sought after beer, but easy to drink.

The Sin City Amber is probably the best of the three beers that I had while waiting on the family to explore the Miracle Mile shops.

The beer begins with moderately malty, caramelly note true to German Vienna Lagers, but with a hop intensity that is quite pleasurable though a bit high for the style.

The aromas transfer nicely to the taste with the emphasis on the bready, carmel, toasty malts while the floral, herbal hops balance the sweetness and contribute flavors as well. No fruitiness, phenolic, or sulfery character to note. Nothing fancy, just a simple and straight forward taste.

The beers texture is where it may sacrifice a bit. Though clean, crisp, and refreshing, the beer falls a bit thin and allows a touch of graininess to come in late. No real alcohol impact on the palate.

Finishes with a clean malty note followed by a shallow lingering of hop flavor.

Certainly a pleasurable beer even if a bit plain and under matled.

Had on tap at the New York-New York. Nothing much to this beer. Reminded me of a macro amber....reddish orange color, thin off white head and medium bodied. Little aroma or actual taste, and the finish was okay. Nothing wrong with this beer, just nothing that stood out either.

Ho-hum.

Consumed 05/09/08 @ The Burger Bar, Las Vegas.

Crystal clear medium amber color. Fine white foam head, less than one finger thick.

Sweet caramel malt aroma.

A very mild floral and spicy hop bite appears first thing, with sweet caramel malt carrying over onto palate. Some nut notes thrown in for good measure. A little oxidized on the aftertaste. No bitterness.

Not in line with what I'd expect from a traditional marzen, but smooth and drinkable.

Had this at the Sin City Micro Brew bar at the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood Hotel/Casino here in Vegas.

Pleasant but somewhat watery looking amber color with a one finger head which stayed for a little while.

Smelled mainly of malts, perhaps a hint of orange peel in there too.

Taste was a bit better than expected considering the somewhat watery appearance. Again, malts were most prominent with a slight citric aftertaste. Mild bitterness.

Not much going on here as far as mouthfeel. I didn't detect much carbonation, and the mouthfeel matched the somewhat thin appearance.

Overall it was an alright beer, although it's not worth going out of your way for. If it's a hot day in Vegas and you've been out shopping with the little lady and you want something cold, then it's worth a stop here to try this or one of their other brews on tap. You can find a lot better than this one, but you can do worse than this too.
