Notes/Commercial Description:
A traditional Irish Dry Stout, it is a full, richly flavored beer with a roasted, coffee-like taste and a hint of chocolate, balanced with an abundant hop profile that delivers a satisfying dry finish. A thick creamy head rests on top and holds the rich roasted aromatic qualities in the glass. This is truly the darker side of sin!

Served on-tap into a plastic cup from Miracle Mile by ph.

A: Dark brown in color, perhaps a little lighter than expected. The plastic cup probably had something to do with underwhelming appearance. Nice head.

S: Roasted malts, caramel, cocoa.

T: Roasted flavor that was subtle, but very good. Also, small flavor of caramel coming through.

M: Thinner than I think a stout should be. Creamy feel, but again not as much as I expected.

D: This beer went down super easy. Good beer for when you want a little flavor, but don't want to think too much.

Overall, it was a pretty good tasting cup of beer. Much better than what you normally find in plastic. I have a hard time complaining about a stout on tap, and this one while not the best choice, isn't a bad one either.

A - A flat muted black color... The head was epic and amongst the best I've ever encountered on a stout or porter... A caramel colored light fluffy latte like head exhibited stellar retention throughout the session...

S - The aroma was a slight let down as it proved to be weak and faint overall... There were hints of roasted malt... Butter... Cream... Coffee...

T - Roasted malt dominated the palette, but wasn't strong overall... A faint hint of baker's chocolate and coffee beans... Overall, all flavors were rather subdued, but still enjoyable...

M - Rich and creamy to start, but quickly turns dry and slightly bitter at finish... Excellent texture that is enjoyable sip after sip...

D - Another solid offereing from Sin City... As seems to be the case, they make accessible and enjoyable beers, but ones that are slightly above average and far from the head of the class for their respective styles...

On tap at the Miracle Mile. Pours a rich dark brown with a mocha-caramel head of a solid finger. impressively creamy retention slowly fades, leaving a good bit of lacing. Ruby tinges at the edges.

aroma is heavy on the roasted notes, a bit light on everything else. molasses and caramel as well as some earthy hops and a hint of bittersweet cocoa.

Taste is light but definitely a solid Irish stout. Pleasant roasted notes with some cocoa, a touch of coffee, and some bitter hops to give it a bit more character.

lacks the creaminess I'd hoped and expected... a bit thin and a bit sharp on the carbonation. A dry finish is nicely done.

Not bad! Good enough for another glass. Nothing amazing, but not bad at all. An interesting, albeit slightly weak irish stout with some nice character to it. Definitely worth a try, especially in the realm of availability on the strip.

Served on tap at Sin City Brewing (Venetian) in Las Vegas, NV

A: Pours an opaque jet black in color. The beer has a one finger tall creamy tan head that reduces to a thick layer covering the entire surface of the beer. Significant lacing is observed.

S: A little mild overall for the aroma that I would expect from a stout. I get some very light notes of dark roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, and freshly ground coffee.

T: Dark roasted malts, very close to being burnt, are the dominant flavor in the beer. There are some mild notes of dark chocolate and a very faint note of coffee. Nice complexity to the flavor.

M: Medium bodied with low to moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy. Slightly dry in the finish.

O: A very easy drinking stout, nice complexity of flavor though a little too mild in the smell for me. I enjoyed the beer and would not hesitate to order it again.

Into a plastic cup (doh!)(Vegas, stock), pours a cascading dark brown with a nice off white head that stayed around for a surprisingly long time. The aroma was light, maybe some chocolates in there. Taste had some nice caramels and roasted malts, stock. The mouth was nice and creamy smooth, good carbonation, easy to drink. Nothing great, nothing bad, a definitely good pickup when walking around one of Vegas's 400 malls on the strip.

Served on tap 05/06/2008. Standard pint glass.

A - Dark tan fades to black, two tip head, mild retention, thick coating of lace.

S - Dry roasted barley and java notes, faint yet pleasant.

D - Nice coffee body with some bitter malt backing. Abv is apparent but seems to make the profile that much bolder, overall I think it balances very well.

M - Medium bodied, mild carbonation level, creamy feel, dry finish.

D - Very good, I was pleased with this one and would have another if the opportunity presented itself.

Poured on-tap at bar in the Venetian. The beer is black with a thin, bright, creamy colored head. They refer to it as "The Dark Side of Sin." There is a nose of coffee and earth. The flavors are very smooth, a good creamy blend of coffee, caramel, and nut. There is a very slick, short aftertaste of coffee. The lightness and crispness of the beer is unusual for a stout, but very enjoyable. This was tasty enough to warrant a growler fill on our way home.
