Pint at the brewpub. Black body with root beer highlights and a good cover of dense, beige head with bits of lacing.

On the nose: herbal hops, caramel and roast. I'd say it's not big enough for a harvest ale, good though.

Lots of chocolate malt, roast and molasses. Comes off as a hoppy, molasses-heavy porter. Hops show as pine and grapefruit pith. The fresh harvest aspect isn't really too obvious, with malt character overpowering the hops. I wouldn't complain usually as it tastes pretty alright but I'm of the opinion that a fresh hop ale should showcase those fresh hops. Why brew one otherwise? Grapefruit pith on the finish, resiny pine lingers. Fairly well-balanced with just enough sweetness.

Decent medium light body. Quite low carbonation, almost seems like cask (which would be a fitting way to serve this one).

ISUs are on the high side (listed at 100+ on their website) to want much more than two. Good though, very flavourful with no real flaws. I'd order this again.
