I stopped in here last weekend when the wife and I were out running errands...

This your average run-of-the-mill small town liquor store... Shitty wine, cheap booze, and BMC filling the shelves and coolers.

There were loads of every different type of BMC in virtually any configuration of bottles/cans... There are almost no craft options other than Sam Adams and Leinenkugels.
I was shocked when I saw about 10 bottles of Lolita, but didn't grab any because they were $18 each.

The store is not one I'll be hitting up again anytime soon. It just isn't worth it.

Visited in Sept 2005:
Needed (good) beer to take to a family reunion. Stopped into this store as an alternative to grocery store macros. We were pleasantly surprised at the selection and the friendly staff. Purchased a six-pack of DFH Raison d'Etre and some rum, as well.

A good selection of local micros (and the requisite macros), good liquor and decent wine selections. Friendly staff. We certainly will return again next time we're back in the area for a visit with family.

Very clean, well laid-out & stocked store. Open on Sundays, too.

Vat & Vine Liquors is a small store located in a fairly new strip mall in Yorkville. Upon entering the store has the neighborhood liquor store vibe..this one is nicely laid out, spacious and seems cleaner than many others I've been to. The majority of the beer is located in the back cooler and features staples from Dogfish Head, Three Floyds, Bell's, Anchor, and more. There's also a small shelf featuring some random import brews.

Honestly, there is really nothing too rare here, however this is the only store in the area that I have found that caters towards craft beer at all. I would like to see the selection expanded, however they probably need to see some more demand first. So, if you're in the Yorkville area I suggest patronizing the Vat & Vine and maybe even requesting some brews. The staff was attentive and asked me if I needed any help or was looking for anything. This is on the way to a few of my friends places and before I found it I was stuck going to the supermarket to buy brews...luckily this gives me a better option and access to some better brews. If you're in the area and looking for some micros, give it a try.
