Just enjoyed a bottle of the 2011 vintage.
A = Black, thick looking. Not much carbonation showing. Dark tan head. Looks good.
S = Rich aroma of bourbon, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, maybe a bit of smoke.
T = Really good. Very bourbon-forward, but not too sweet or overpowering. The flavor is very smooth. No real trace of the 14.5% ABV. The sweet malt and bourbon blend together, then vanilla, then the roasted malt and coffee/dark chocolate flavors.
M = Lots of body, just enough zip of carbonation to keep it from being too syrupy. Mouthwatering finish.
O = A very fine example of bourbon aged stout. Worth it.
